To all of you that have a problem with what the fans did, take a quarter and buy some fricking class.

So I'm classless for calling out fans for upstaging our players becasue of their "want" to be a good fan.

Get a Life.

Personally, I think standing and applauding is enough of a congratulatory gesture. I wouldnt stay and high five them because that's just too much to me. But I see where the people that did it are coming from, and more power to them if they wanted to.

Just not something I would do

I've asked it before was in Rice in '05 or CSF/Rice in '95.....those are the only two recent (use that term loosely) home regional losses (never lost a super at home that I'm aware of) that I can remember. Did one of those teams get a victory lap afer beating the Tigers?

CSF and Rice are both established college baseball powers, with traditionally good teams.

No one from South of the Mason-Dixon line even knew where Stony Brook was, prior to this series.

It's a huge deal that they beat LSU in the Tigers own stadium. I thought it was classy of the LSU fans to not only show their appreciation for the Seawolves, but to show respect for the game of baseball.

Baseball is different. Sure, I get wood for the baseball team this time of year. But I am nowhere near as passionate about it as I am football. And the losses do not affect me as badly. I felt like tipping my hat to SB after 2 games. It appeared obvious to my that they were better. And it's a pretty big deal for a school of that size to come to the Box and beat a team with the history and pedigree of LSU. I have no problem w our fans congratulating their players. If it was someone like Miami, then Hell no. I will be pulling for those Yankee fricks.

So should all players in any sport just start storming off the field or court after defeat, without shaking the other team's hand?

It's very cool that LSU fans did this. Stony Brook did something amazing and historic. Seems the baseball fans have a good understanding of the moment. I doubt they do this for a Bama or 95% of the other teams in the tourney. Great to be a Tiger!!!

And the sanctimonious fans have started their bullshite. Just like I expected.

I'm not going to sugarcoat this past weekend, it sucked fricking balls. And the person I am most mad at is myself because I put way too much emotion into LSU sports.

No shite. Don't know what games that guy was watching. There never should have even been a game 3. SB gave away game one. We were completely dominated.

How many of those condemning our fans for congratulating SB also blasted Bobby Petrino for half arse shaking CLM's hand after last year's football game? Based on the comments made in this thread, the post game handshake shouldn't be required and opposing players and coaches should hate their opponent and storm off the field.

Exactly. This was a once in forever win for a tiny baseball program that no one ever heard of. They did the improbable and there's no reason why we can't show our appreciation for their efforts after the game ends--just adds to the number of folks who will want to come back because they know in the rare event that we lose--we're still good sports

They are if you take what others have said in this thread as fact. That being you are supposed to hate the opponent no matter what.

If fans aren't allowed to give congrats to the opposing team then why should it be expected of the coaches and players that actually played in the game and lost?

giving them a standing o to the end the game, was sort of cheesy but understandable I guess. Giving them a victory lap though? Come on, that is over the top and goes well past simply congratulating the other team.
