I don't think that game was in BR.

It was.

And wasn't it the first game of that season?

No. We started with Fresno state and then Moo State. Or it was the other way around. Craig Steltz got 3 interceptions in the Moo State game and Flynn also ran on a play and LaFell folded up Zach Smith like a lawnchair in that game. The Va. Tech game was the following week, I believe.

I'm certain of it being in BR. I have the dvd of the game. Musdumber and Herbstreit called it.

They had Sean Glennon at QB and pulled him after the half and put in Tyrod Taylor.

I remember it vividly because I was out of state and couldn't make it but I saw it on the tv. The place was rocking!

Sorry, was going off of memory.

I knew the Moo state game was away (we wore the purple jerseys) and it was before the Va. Tech game though.

1995 Auburn. 12-6 "Bring Back the Magic" game. Gotta be on there.

I was at 3 of those and on campus for the Earthquake Game (watching in the lobby of Power Hall with other loser freshman that didn't have tickets). Even from across campus, the noise was amazing after Hodson-Fuller.

1995 - Auburn

2010 - Alabama

ETA: I agree about (ETC 1971) Notre Dame, as well

the Notre Dame game was in 1971, I was still in the Army and listened to it at 3AM on AFN....

that rates above the 1970 Ole Miss to me....

I thought the Earthquake game was pretty terrible until the play. Hated that.

This doesn't get mentioned nearly enough. People who weren't there think that game had all the excitement of the 07 UF game, or, hell, even last week's game v. USCe.

It was a boring terrible game until LSU's last drive and the play to Fuller.

I'd have to say Ole Miss 1972 was boring until the last 5 minutes as well...

This USCe game will be in the classic range IMO, maybe not top 10 but right in the hunt. Was loud, competitive, great weather. Been to a couple others on the list, great to be a Tiger fan.

Solid List as I was at 8 of those 10.

Last 2-1/2 minutes actually, but those 2-1/2 minutes were great.

You really think those 4 were better than 07 UF? I don't know, it was before my time but I figured games just didn't get any better than that

Exactly. I remember sitting in that stadium being all negatiger for 58 minutes, and in complete jubilation on the final drive. Unbelievable swing of emotions.

My favorite LSU game in Tiger Stadium (since I've been going consistently since 1995) was 1997 Florida...and it isn't even close. Florida had won an impressive 25 straight SEC games and were defending national champions. Very few media outlets gave us a chance, considering we had struggled with Vandy the week before and had lost Cecil Collins for the season. But what a magical night. Tiger Stadium was rocking that night. And it was the first time LSU beat a #1 ranked team.

Good list. Hard to argue, but certainly some others could make the 6-10 list.

1986 Texas A&M . 35-17 final is a little misleading. Awesome game to start the season at night on EPSN.A&M was ranked #3 and had won the Cotton Bowl for the first time since 1967 season and was a pre-season #1 by many. Tremendous environment.

1987 Ohio State. Yea, it was a tie and as the season went on Ohio State petered out. But you had #3 vs #4 and even though it was a "day game" it was as loud as it could get.

2000 Alabama. Yes,the Tide was awful at 3-8. But whereas we all know we win most of the time there, they had not lost at TS since '69. And, the 4th quarter was exhillirating.

1997 Auburn. We lost and it won't rank up there with the 1979 Southern Cal game in terms of a "valiant effort" but that was one hell of a football game.

2001 Auburn. Won the right to represent the West for the first time with a wild night on and off the field.

Remember it stormed and people were running on the field and got the crowd cheering.

Notre Dame was a power team stacked with All Americans. Ronnie Estay on our defensive line was All-A as was Casanova. Notre Dame turned the ball over on downs three times inside our 10 yard line. It was the night Bert Jones became one of the great LSU QBs. The crowd screamed itself into a frenzy. That is a definite top 10 game.

If Tigerdroppings had been around then, it would have been a monumental meltdown that night. LSU was heavily favored - had a 6-0 record (on a 10 game winning streak) and was ranked #6. Ole Miss was 4-3 and unranked. It took an 80 yard drive in the last three minutes with two fourth down conversions to pull out the win.

That game came very close to making my list. I remember Troy Twillie had been disciplined by Dinardo earlier in the season and missed some games. He made the last second interception in the endzone that sealed the victory.
