The 1997 team won with sheer power. They set an NCAA record with 110 home runs and hit at least one home run in all 70 games.
They actually hit 188 home runs.

Here’s the kicker…
“All in all, the members of the 1991 LSU Tigers combined for 28.6 WAR over the course of 46 MLB seasons.

DJ Lemahieu has 26 career WAR on his own

That’s why 110 is in bold

And what about the rest of them. Average in ALL of them abs I bet that number drops. Chad Ojeh won WS games as a starter. Paul Byrd pitched forever in the majors. You can’t beat this staff and Skip was the coach, not Paul.
That 2009 team wasn’t in the same class as 1991. I didn’t even add what they did in regionals…

Im not sure the point, is this about the teams that were the best in those years, or how they developed after the fact?

I posted how dominant 1991 was and Lester was being his douche self. The article I referenced had 1991 as the best ever. That scrub list that the OP linked was WAY off

You acted like 2009 wasn’t up to par because they almost lost game 1 of the series lol.

Then your stupid WAR stat blew up in your face

188 HRs and another record of 88 consecutive games with at least one HR, dating back to '96.

Did you do an average WAR for 2009? Still waiting.
FWIW - I didn’t bring it up, it was part of a larger article in 2013 that actually did some research.
Article on 1991 Team

Have they ever found that first HR Mouton hit against UF? I don’t believe that any single player in an LSU uniform has ever hit a ball that far.
