There is plenty to complain about. This mindset is our problem. So many (including the leadership of the university and AD) see this as a successful season we should be happy with. It seems like forever ago that we were competing for championships.

Very informative rebuttal.

Every player in that locker room knows what the goals are.

If you asked them if they are okay with not competing for titles, I'd wager they would say no.

So you can never point out negatives the team needs to fix? Like ever? Hope the team doesnt have that mindset. You should always point out the bad as well as the good. Only way you get better.

Waiting for your post pointing out the good.

Because that way you personally can make LSU better.

Exactly.

People who argue with this point don't understand that LSU isn't expected to go undefeated every season.

LSU is a program that has the potential to be on a level that should be COMPETING consistently every year for the division, conference and playoff.

No one expects them to blow out Alabama and win every game, but you cannot say that losing to them at home like we did is acceptable just because we won 9 regular season games. LSU is better than that.

Again, no information in your rebuttal. Just personal jabs.

Are you a player? What makes you privy to the goals of the program?

Because I know damn well what was promised by coach faux.

So either bring some facts to the argument, or waltz your arse out the convo and let the adults talk.

Actual accomplishment vs potential

we also had the potential to lose to auburn and Georgia. it's easy to look back and say we should have won one or two more games. the atm game was a cluster frick of immense proportions and our offense was just not ready to beat florida. even so, with a couple of breaks this team would have been 12-1.

the thing about some fans as they don't SEE what's actually happening. Orgeron is indeed trying to build the LOS up and we had an unexperienced offense. he's moving toward fixing both of those issues. if he succeeds LSU will be back in the hunt for a NC. how long should he be given? that's certainly debateable but I think he's earned some more time to prove his worth. if it doesn't work out, at least the cupboard won't be as bare as Miles left it.

WHAT? No rational or season ticket paying fan is complaining.

Chicken pays his minions to stir up controversy to drive traffic. It’s a great marketing scheme, but nobody believes it’s real. This was by all levels an amazing season. Chicken and his money machine are the only ones that could possibly disagree.

No, I enjoyed the win and at the end of the day this is just a game played by college guys. But is it asking too much for the leadership of the university to strive for excellence? Look at what Bama, A&M and others are doing. We are being left behind, and I'm not just talking about football. It extends to Louisiana generally.

You must be a young fan. Forever ago, pre Saban, we were competing to stay out of the cellar. It was fifty years prior to Saban we were competing for a championship.

No, I remember those days too. So what you are saying is that 5-3 in the SEC and a meaningless bowl game is what we are now aspiring to. You are not alone. I see no urgency in our leadership to do better.

Obviously not "man". Just have to think with so many 6'5 receivers SE should be able to figure something out.

You serious Clark?

Had you said MORE talented then sure.

As talented?
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
Texas A&M
Auburn (avg season...but talented)
Miami (shite season...but talented)
Moo State (close)

My take, we have LESS talent currently than at ANY point under Miles. I think we overperformed in terms of wins/losses this season (although I agree with 10 wins being the expected floor). Why we seem to have less talent is another debate altogether. Hopefully, we are loading up with these upcoming recruiting classes.

I'm looking forward to next season. Provided Joe B stays healty, we should be in the hunt. Just my .02.

It is truly amazing to see our AD is happy with a 9-3 regular season for Orgeron but tried to fire Miles for the exact same record if you count the McNeese game that got rained out. I see not much difference overall between Orgeron and Miles last few years here so far. Stagnant offenses at times, only successful offenses when we get transfer QBs. Stout defenses. Ugly wins.

I'm happy with the season, it was good. Not great. Not optimistic that we'll be in playoff contention next year or anytime soon which is what LSU as a program should strive for. Our OC still hasn't scored on Bama and we still haven't developed a QB since Matt Flynn.
