With Arnold going 3-4 does PM go back to Safford and Samford on a hunch again tomorrow ??

Seems about par for course

I will literally riot if he does this

But all seriousness would you keep the same lineup with Crews leading off and Morgan in the 3 hole??

Serious question….can someone differentiate Safford, Sanford, and Cranford. They are the same exact person.

Same lineup, but the order might shuffle a little bit.

I think no matter where you hit Crews, you have to have someone in front of him who can get on base. Gio at 9 would be perfect for that.

I loved the top of the order as it was. Maybe go with something like this

1. Morgan
2. Crews
3. Dugas
4. Doughty
5. Arnold
6. Bianco
7. Thompson
8. Milazzo
9. Gio

I don't think Crews moves out of the leadoff spot.

Can we let Labas bat and DH for Milazzo?

Or can we move Milazzo to lead-off and get his out over with and so it won’t interrupt any early threats.

That's the lineup that makes the most sense to me.

The Safford experiment is over. It will be back to the usual group from here on out.

Arnold should have been 2nd or DH all year.

One thing to keep in mind for Crews is that his average drops considerately, about 100 points with RISP. From 0.362 to 0.268.

Morgan on the other hand. Is batting 0.391 with RISP.

I'm okay with batting Crews leadoff. He must be more comfortable at leadoff.

Great stats. On a non analytical note, Crew’s hr to start the game really set the tone after miserable offensive performances in the previous 2 games.

. As an aside, my 10 year old asked if LSU could DH Milazzo.

Crews is absolutely more comfortable at leadoff. Paul has said that multiple times. It's why it took so long to move him. He also gets pitched a lot differently with runners on base, so I believe it's partly the spot in the order and also the pitches that he sees.

Nothing against Eddie Smith bc the sample size isn't there with this group and he obviously saw the handwriting on the wall, but a good hitting coach doesn't just teach a single approach. Fundamentals, sure. But, every hitter needs to know what kind of approach they need...against certain pitchers...in certain situations...and where they are in the order.
