Obviously I get that Jimbo is the guy but Herman would be a great 2nd option. He's very similar to what Meyer was coming out of Utah. He can out coach Kirby Smart. His buyout is realistic. And he has literally broken records everywhere he's been.
Don't get me wrong, Jimbo is (and should be) the primary target. But Herman has a TON of potential.

I agree he would be my #1 choice. Young, great recruiter, brilliant offensive mind, won a national championship at OSU. Other than 2-3 more years as a head coach what else could you ask for?
If he was hired and kept Frank and O LSU would have Louisiana and Texas recruiting locked down. It would be ridiculous!

That would be a big step for Herman. He's legit though. I'm not sure his style fits our personnel, but he has proven to produce wherever he has been.

Why should Jimbo be The Man? Have people forgotten the criticisms about his rush rush pass punt offense? Other than the final 6 games of 2001 his offenses didnt exactly set the world on fire. And he has a NC and has nothing left to prove like an up and comer.

I'd take him over Jimbo. Think he is good and he would probably bring in Major Applewhite who is a good young OC.

We would go to every game with Herman as our head coach KNOWING he was smarter and better prepared for specific matchups than the guy he was coaching against. He is the coach this state needs.

A member of Mensa and a Presidential Scholar! Could you imagine his press conferences as opposed to what we have endured for the past decade? In my opinion, he could be a Chip Kelly type of hire given our resources and talent.

He's my number 2 behind Chip Kelly, so basically my first choice too. If I'm Alleva, I make Chip Kelly tell me money isn't an option, I'm not coming back to college football. Then, put the full court press on Herman.
