what would make you think that Aranda would be a good head coach!

Isn't it funny how things turn out? So many on this board cried because LSU didn't get Herman. I mean literally cried saying he was the better coach.

Don’t care what you think of him if you don’t think his offenses as tOSU UH and Texas were good you’re crazy.
you'd be looking for another OC the very next year.

sark is not an improvement over herman imo...either par or a downgrade.

the guy had major alcohol problems at Washington.

Just a few years ago, Texas felt really good about things, and most of us felt like we were 2nd fiddle once again.

I’ll take where we are. And more good days comin’...

Let’s face it LSU broke them last year. That was going to be a statement game for 1 program and we took it from them at their house. Makes my heart happy

Herman brought their program back to respectability after the Charlie Strong disaster with winning records every year and bowl wins in every year, but he hasn't met expectations. Although they only lost like 5 games by double digits in his time there and never were beaten by 20+ points, that ain't what Texas was looking for.

It looked promising after they beat UGA in the Sugar Bowl after his 2nd year, but they just haven't done anything special since then. He's a decent coach, but didn't meet the expectations. I thought he would do better there, but he seemed immature for the job.
One of the problems with Herman is the culture fostered over there. It isn't good.

Put it this way, when players- starters- are quitting in the middle of games you have a culture problem. And Herman is the source of the culture problem with his staff, and that is tricking down to the players.

From a first hand account of a friend of mine: it is a clique culture on the 40 acres. There's Herman's guys, and then there's the rest of the team. Unfortunately Herman's clique isn't anywhere close to being 10 coaches and 120 players. Herman's clique is much closer to 3 coaches and 20 players.
