This is very wishful thinking

Very Very wishful. But after their 2012 championship they lost a lot of players and didn't replace them very well. Historically championship teams fall off the next year so lets hope they win it all this year to give us a moderate chance at winning the conference.

My UK friend I referenced on first page of this thread just emailed me this:

quote:

Friend:
Heres the latest from the uk premium board:

"I'm still saying LSU but not 100 percent confident. An interesting note is if it is in fact UK, Kentucky's staff doesn't know it as of now. They are seemingly in the dark.

Now that's happened before where coaches don't know and end up with a player, but as of now it seems like the majority of signs are pointing towards LSU.

I'll post more when I know."

Friend: That post was made by the main recruiting insider and was followed up by countless ppl saying its lsu no doubt

UK has put the full court press on this kid

I can promise you with 100% certainty it is almost completely the opposite of this. UK is waiting on Malik Newman. Blakeney knows this. Cal told him as recently as this week. Blakeny doesn't want to wait or be second choice.

The problem with this is even if Blakeney commits, he cant sign until April 16th...so if things don't work out with UK and Newman before then, Blakeney could just use us as a placeholder and jumps to UK once the signing period comes around. I really think he wants UK, but UK isn't showing him enough love.

UK is loaded in the backcourt next year and he knows it. While he may want UK, LSU is the smarter decision for him.

UK next year at the guard spots:

Ulis, Briscoe, Booker, Matthews, Hawkins (maybe Newman, too).

Who knows...maybe even Harrison or both.

I think its way to optimistic to expect Martin and Mickey back next year. They both flirted with leaving before this season.

IMO, if we are lucky, we will keep one of them.

So we may need another big.

No one should expect either back next year, they both thought about leaving last year and both are being pretty dominant this year, they are gone and we should expect that.

Probably the least helpful thing to add to the discussion. Not halfway through the season and predicting players to be forced out of the program.

It's hard to see either guy coming back next year. It's still early in the season and SEC play hasn't started, but both Martin and Mickey are making a case for SECPOY

Martin - 1st in scoring; 3rd in rebounding

Mickey - 1st in blocks; 2nd in rebounding; 8th in scoring.
