To those who say they are done with LSU.
Not saying that isn't happening cause I haven't read the whole board.
But, who is saying they're "done"?

My favorite part of this is that a lot of posters with the OP's mentality are ones the openly petitioned for Miles to be fired.
So support O because he is our coach but ok to not support Miles because they didn't want him.

He had nothing to do with lsu playing well. He doesnt run the offense. He doesnt run the defense. Ensminger was more integral in lsu playing well than ed orgeron was.
He certainly had something to do with LSU playing better, maybe he is smart enough to put people in a place to succeed. Ensminger did a good job but CEO was a big reason we improved.
He is not gonna make the changes that will get us where we need to go, but he might be smart enough to hire the people we need to make those changes.
His success will come down to recruiting and OC, the DC is elite. I think the upside for CEO is he does not need all the limelight. The downside is can he control a team at a high profile football school. Florida game was not a good job of that.

How many people refuse to recognize the amazing offensive and defensive, and to some degree ST turn-around that we witnessed this season once CLM was gone and CEO became the coach? I for one was amazed he could get this much out of an unmotivated bunch of talented individualists as he did. No they didn't beat Alabama and yes, Florida and the refs won a game LSU should have won, but the scoring, the defense, the whole level of play was light years better than this same team most of last season and the first CLM games this season.
I am on-board with Head Coach Ed Orgeron! And I am glad Alleva did not suck up to Herman or Fisher, who clearly wanted to game the process to their advantage anyway. They are NOT Tigers!

We are in good hands as long as the NegaTigers are still around. After any loss they crash the board.

It was the SAME team with same coaches!!!!!! Is a magician?

NEVER done with my LSU Tigers. Coach O wasn't my first choice either, but I could think of a lot worse.

Miles had his chance
Until O messes up repeatedly like Miles don't lump the two together
When O calls for a spike with 1 second on the clock or something similar, than you can stake this claim.

That could be the most disingenuous and ignorant statement of the day. We had a 12 year track record of Miles coaching our team to decide he was a piss poor coach. All of the people crying about O have yet to give him an opportunity. Yall wanted him fired after giving the best team in the country their most difficult game of the year. Idiots.

It could be that the current administration does take football seriously and did not want to repeat the mistakes of USC. I'm not saying I'm happy with the decision, but it's a far reach to say that the administration made this decision carelessly or irrationally.

I'll root for LSU and hope for the best because it's my alma mater and I've been a Tiger since I was 5 years old. But it's infuriating that we settled for a cheap hire and didn't even talk to more than 3 candidates.
Fair enough and you would definitely not be included in the group I addressed in my OP.
quote:
If Herman or Jimbo is your target, you pull a Michigan and MAKE IT HAPPEN like they did with Harbaugh.
I do have to say though that there should be a cap on what we're willing to spend unless it is a sure thing. Herman most certainly is not worthy of Harbaugh or Saban type of money at this point. And as much as it sucks, it does appear that he was using LSU to get Texas to get it in gear.
quote:
You think any other blue blood would have botched this hire like Joe and LSU did? frick no.
Whether we agree with it or not, looks like all the rumors of Coach O working his way up to a solid #3 on their wish list behind Jimbo and Herman were true. So if that's the case, then I guess what they did makes sense. Not saying I agree with it, but that's how it appears to me.
quote:
LSU tucked tail and ran as soon as Texas threw its hat in the ring and that's bullshite.
Same as above. I think he was using us and Alleva and folks saw that pretty easily.
quote:
Of course the elites have made bad hires in the past, but at least those hires were proven commodities at the time of being hired.
Which I don't think Herman is enough of (proven commodity) yet to justify the money he was apparently asking for. Jimbo is debatable on that count. But it looks like he had no real intention of leaving either. Who knows why. Could well be the children situation.
quote:
LSU looks like Mississiipi State in all of this and the country is laughing their arse off.
Unfortunately I think you're correct here. All we can do now is hope for the best and that they won't be laughing next season.
