I only care about LSU winning out the rest of the way and ending with a 10-3 season. They can't help it if the opposing teams are what they are, LSU can only take care of its side of the business. A 10-3 season (6-2 in conference) would be a nice thing to build upon, and will likely help out on the recruiting trail.

Where are your 'goal posts'

I expected us to be at 8-0 or 7-1 going into Bama and in to top 10.

While I pleased the team responded after those terrible L's, I wouldn't say going 3-1 with W's over 2 SEC teams having really bad yrs., a wire to wire L to Bama with us being down 11-14 from the 2nd qt. on, and a nice home win over Aub. would be "unfathomable".

severely lacking in upperclassmen experience

I am not going to research it, but as I recall we started like 15-18 Sr. and Jr. vs. Bama. I wouldn't call that severely lacking experience.

LSU for yrs. has had players bolt. Nothing new in that, it is the 1st some are using it for an excuse.

Before the storyline was, 10 wins is nothing special for LSU football. Now, 10 wins is not only acceptable, but a "unfathomable" result cause we played so poorly to start. I don't get that, but each to our own.

Are you talking about 1/9/12? If so, you can't be serious.

The bitterness some show towards a coach with the best results in LSU history is amazing to me, but each to our own.

A NCG L to perhaps the best D to ever play college ball when you already beat them once is the most "embarrassing" as opposed to what? A SBC Troy we were a 3 TD favorite over at home? I guess the days of some not being happy with without west or SEC titles or competing for NCs are over for some.

Worst SEC has been in a LONG time and we don’t have the play the 2nd best team.

So we lose to Troy and Miss St....Miles would have been fired for this season. Coach O gets praised. Oh well, rational thinking left this board years ago.

I was right there with you my man. At the beginning of the season I expected 7-1 going into the Alabama game this year.

I guess this is where we differ. After losing to Troy at home I didn't know what to think and obviously my expectations for the rest of the season were lowered because it would've been easy for the players to give up. I'm crediting O for keeping them in the (shrimp) boat. One (just as yourself) could definitely argue that we should expect O to turn the team around after that if we have the right coach and that is fine. I lost a lot of faith in O's perceived ability to coach after that game and he is starting to win me back over now because keeping the team together and rallying them after that loss was pretty remarkable in my mind. But like you said, to each his own.

What I was referring to here is that the amount of playing time our upperclassmen have under their belt is far less than in years past. You've got guys like Donnie Alexander, Kevin Toliver, John Battle, Greg Gilmore, Garrett Brumfield, Russell Gage, etc... who haven't started many games before this year and now they are expected to be major contributors. It's not like we could roll Kendall Beckwith, Dwayne Thomas, Tre White, and Jamaal Adams out there to lead.

Absolutely agree that we usually have a exodus of juniors to the draft. The difference I've observed is that for the first time in 2016 we had a bunch of junior STAY. Because last year we were supposed to be special (preseason #5, generational running back, etc...) and then when they graduated, the incredible junior class went pro as well, leaving us in a unique position for this year with our now seniors not having as much playing time as they would have if they had gotten on the field more last season.

Overall I expected 10-2 on the year before the season. This season is a disappointment.
All I was talking about was how the team rallied after the Troy loss. If you asked me after that game what our record would be at the end of the year I would've told you 6-6. I do find it unfathomable that we are staring down the barrel of a 9-3 season after losing to Troy. At home. Don't you?

TL;DR

So now we are bitching about beating the teams we play? This board is genius

who is bitching?

I simply asked, when is the last time LSU faced 5 teams who all eventually replaced their coach? the amount of college coaching turnover has changed just in the last 5 years, so its not hard to see why this would be a rare occurrence.

not a single response has provided an answer btw.

Ed O getting ready to face off against his second interim coach this season. fortunately Ed O has the best interim record in the country at 12-4, so he should be heavily favored this weekend.
