and touting this as a sign that O has the team trending up...

whens the last time LSU faced 5 teams that are all likely replacing coaches?

mcelwain has already been fired, and ole miss, arky, UT, and aTm are almost certainly replacing coaches.

depending on how the season finishes out you may add gus to that list as well.

It's not Ed's fault those coaches are having bad seasons. Ed is paid to win no matter what the record of the teams on the schedule

It definitely doesn't mean as much as it did in the past, but from where the team was earlier this season to how improved it is now represents an outstanding coaching job, IMO.

There are 2 options here. Lose to crappy teams or beat crappy teams. I'd much rather the latter than the former. Does beating Arkansas replace State or Bama? Of course not. But at the end of the day, records in CFB are a big deal and used to position for next year and on the recruiting trail. A potential 10-3 ending record will be a nice bullet point, and hardly anybody outside of this fanbase will really know how shallow of a record it is.

Valid point.... but let’s finish 6-2 first before having this conversation.

Remember UF last year? Winning out isn’t guaranteed.

i'm not a O guy at all, but 9-3 (6-2) with this team and road schedule is a great accomplishment (if it happens).

No season that includes historically bad losses to State and Troy can be labelled outstanding.

No matter what problems LSU has either Coaching, players, other teams rankings.

9-3 (6-2) season, is way better than 3-9 (2-6) season we were expected to have after the Troy fiasco

When's the last time LSU finished 6-2 in conference to go with, quite possibly, second in the division and third in conference?

Can't enjoy winning more games in conference since 2012?

Go be a fan of one of those 5 teams.

2012, when they were arguably the 6th best team in the SEC, and the SEC was in the middle of an unprecedented 4 schools winning 7 consecutive titles.

credit to O for turning the season around after troy, but I can't help but be reminded of last season when LSU feasted on some pretty awful teams post Miles (mizzou, 5-7 ole miss, 6-6 arkansas)

No I didn't. You say it's outstanding coaching to get us from that low point to where we are now (celebrating a 2 TD loss to Bama). I have to ask you, who got us to that low point?

Nothing about this season is outstanding. We beat one team we shouldn't have, and lost two games is spectacular fashion that we should have won.

Mac hadn't been fired when LSU beat Florida IN Gainesville and Ole Miss hadn't made a change before LSU blew them out of the water. You're just looking for a reason to complain.
