frick, I like how real he is, but I can see where it would rub people the wrong way.
A lot of people need to listen to Tim Corbin's comments after their game yesterday

I'm not sure what this means. I assume you mean "made the CWS and lost."

They lost in the first round at Omaha

When does LSU have the "great team"? This program doesn't build statues and plaques for SECT titles. Winning in Omaha is what we used to pride ourselves on. It makes me shake my head to see former players on twitter call the SECT "the LSU Invitational". We used to call the stadium in Omaha "Alex Box North", but now we are forced to take pride in winning the SECT.
For everyone praising the talent on Stony Brook's team in 2012, what about the LSU lineup in 2015? What about having the dominant pitcher in college baseball (still dealing in the MLB) in 2013? We've won 1 game in Omaha since 2009. That's one win in Omaha in the last 6 seasons.
Mainieri ain't getting fired, nor should he. But I won't feel ashamed for asking "where's the beef" when it comes to our postseason performance.

I'd give that to 2008 when the program was actually rebuilding. That win streak was insane

It's always possible that these opinions are being expressed by different people. Not every post you read on the rant is authored by the same individual.

Nobody is forcing YOU to do anything but their is nothing wrong with taking pride in winning a tournament filled with the best teams in college baseball.
I want more post season success too but there is nothing wrong with being happy with SECT success and still wanting more form the program. The players and coaches set goals at the beginning of the year and they are win the west, win the SEC, win the SECT, and then when the National Championship. What's wrong with being happy in the moment while the team is accomplishing one of their goals?

Make no mistake about it, I'm up until 1:50 in the morning following the Tigers this week because I want them to win. I do enjoy watching them win. It's just frustrating to see a program that consistently wins in the regular season (and SECT) as much as LSU currently is yet we can't advance in Omaha.

Yea. Whatever you do, don't enjoy the journey. Can I venture a guess as to whether your glass is half-full or half-empty?

What I don't like about Mainieri coached teams, is they rarely over achieve. LSU is talented every year but unless they are loaded with superstars he can't win a championship. He also puts everything on the players and rarely takes responsibility for the teams failures.

How dare we take pride in winning a tournament with 6 of the top 8 teams in the nation and 7 of the top 10. I am ashamed of myself!

Our last few Omaha trips have been a disappointment, we know the talent this team has and with a coach who has supposedly been there and done that, I'd enjoy some semblance of consistency especially in pressure pack games in Nebraska.

Considering LSU fan's and the teams goal every year is NC or bust it is impossible to overachieve. Also if you don't think this team has overachieved from what we thought at the beginning of the year I don't know what to tell you

Holding players accountable is not a bad thing. Do I agree with the way he goes about it? Not really but the overall point is the same he just uses the media to get to his players sometimes. I don't think he is any less of a coach because of it.

How so? I was noting that the made it to Omaha. Regardless of what you do in Omaha, making it there is undeniable proof that you had a damn strong season!
