I'm hopeful the SECN will have an app on Apple TV. That would be great.

Some good information on the SEC Network website...FAQ section.
I guess the big deal for Cox customers, like me, is hopefully Cox strikes a deal to get it before 8/14/2014.
Question: Who is the cable provider for the campus here in Baton Rouge ?

There is. They originally said that there would be a mobile app "similar" to the WatchESPN app but last time I looked at the FAQ it said it will be integrated into WatchESPN but only for subscribers with the SEC Network approved content providers.

We won't get near as many games on tv as we are use to. LSU now has to share tv time with 13 other teams
That's almost certainly not correct.
Money is the goal.
Sports networks will want to cover GAMES because I guarantee even a baseball game will bring in more revenue than "Behind the Music: Mark Richt".
ESPN3 covers basically EVERY college football game that is not exclusively broadcast by another network. You think people give a shite about rice vs. miami of ohio? No.. but it's there. Because they spend 100 grand on production and make 500 in profit.
If a game is exclusively broadcast by another network - then it's exclusively broadcast, watch it on TV (it's only blacked out on the internet if you receive that channel in your area)
CST can't broadcast every game because of the fact they are a local station and don't have the means. They can't press a button and send it across the country while some journalist intern sits in his kitchen eating eggos and "commentating".
ESPN/SEC Network can/will. In 3 or 4 years every "big 3" game will be available whether it be through cable or online - it'll be there.
I think we'll all agree that quantity beats quality in this situation. Mute the game if you must, but at least you'll have that option.
For those of you worrying that your provider won't pick it up. DON'T. One thing that will stop COX from being a dick is money.

CST is friggen awful and it's about damn time they get forcefully canned.

I hope they pick them up or something they were great for local games. I've seen some of the espn3 games they have some horrible announcers.

there will be more games on TV
what concerns me is will I be able to watch as many games as I did with GZ.

If anything your concerns should probably be reversed. There is no question you'll have more games online than you did with GZ. At a bare minimum every conference will be available online if you have the network unless one or more schools decide to stop providing video for some reason.

There may well be more games, but there will be less LSU baseball games. Forget any 3 game wkend series being shown by CST & then another channel. Those days will be long gone & we'll be seein Ga. vs UK type games as opposed to LSU/MoState 2 out of 3.

I'd be willing to bet you every LSU conference game next year will be either on TV or on the digital platform.

that is what I'm thinking
if this is true now my only worry is Cox.

I have DirecTV in NOLA, with no CST, so this will be an improvement for me, assuming DirecTV gets SECN.
My guess is every person in the state will have access to SECN no matter their tv provider. It might take a few months, but it will happen eventually.
The only people who will end up worse off are those without high speed internet who currently get CST. I could certainly see the SECN TV channel broadcasting less LSU games than CST currently does. One will have to go to the SECN website/app/whatever to stream a lot of the games.
I currently stream netflix, and other services, from my BluRay player. Hopefully it will update with the SEC Network app when available, otherwise, I might have to get a new device. Oh, and I'll probably bump up my internet speed also.

Do you have WatchESPN app now? If so, then you'll get SECN's app or content. If not, you need to look at a new device, such as a Roku.

Again, you are assuming everybody has CST and there is a large portion of the fan base that doesn't. Anything better than 7 or 8 games on TV is a win for a lot of people

There will still be ways to watch the games though. They just won't be on a broadcast network.

My guess is you're right, televised baseball games might go down, but as long as non-televised games are available online or streaming, I don't care. Makes no difference to me.
