Well it is a 17-13 year, and you can only do three things about it. 1- stop watching LSU baseball, and shut the frick up. 2- pull like hell for this team and hope they make a run 3- cry like a bitch on a message board every chance you get. It seems 3 is your choice, but you should probably reconsider. I think you should go with 1.

So fricking true. Well said.

Right. One of the west coast teams did not have lights IIRC.

I went and looked it up. The last time a #2 seed hosted was 2010.

So poll rankings decide who is the better team? I bet all the 4or5 polls have all the exact same teams ranked the same order 1-16 right? Can't be that different groups value different criteria? Not to mention that "best team" and "best resume" may be totally different things

Who was that in 2010? Some teams have even started to give host bids at other venues. UCSB's (iirc) bid this year is actually at a stadium in Las Vegas

Ok. I'm not saying we don't host a regional, I'm saying the opposite. I know we will host a regional. It's not necessarily based on our legitimate ranking though and is not based solely on a teams performance on the field, bc if it were we don't deserve to host a regional according to every up to date ranking I've seen thus far. Other factor's like what I've shown in my previous posts are used and taken into consideration when the ncaa figures out seeding and regional host sites, which happen to be to our benefit as a team this season and as a program in the postseason bc we are a beast in revenue for the ncaa. That has been my point all along. Some of our fans using LSU as a regional host site this season as some sort win and as solid proof that this team and CPM haven't underachieved as badly as they truly have is bullshite. We shouldn't be in this situation to begin with based on our team and the talent we had, but we are. That is the point. Going from being ranked #1 in the preseason to where we stand now, lucky to host a regional bc we aren't a top 16 team in the nation (not only in my eyes, but every poll that exists, is bullshite. I think we have to win a game or 2 in the sec tourney to host personally, but we will see bc LSU baseball is a premier program with the best fans in the country and the stadium to guarantee massive profit for the ncaa. Anyway, geaux tigers, and I hope this team can get it turned around, get lucky, or God will miracle our asses to Omaha. I just don't see it though, and that's a shame with the potential this team had this season.

And what I’m telling you is based on on the field performance we do deserve to host a regional, because hosting a regional has nothing to do with our media poll ranks

You keep saying this but your only justification so far is rankings in polls or RPI.

The selection committee looks at overall resumes and more than what some newspaper writer thinks is a "better team". Show me the 16 better resumes please

Connecticut hosted as a #2 seed and Florida State was sent there as the #1. That was back when they tried to spread regionals around the country a bit more which they have really stopped doing.

Wow that's really dumb. Can you imagine the shite show here if LSU would've been sent halfway across the country as a #1seed so that the regionals could be more spread out geographically

I remember a lot of people saying FSU got hosed back then. They ended up winning the regional anyway.

Baseball isn’t basketball though. It is way easier to get in slumps, have off games, and just in general it is harder to win in baseball as a result of the nature of the sport itself
link?

Let’s face it, the 90s were great and Skip was a great coach but that was a very different type of baseball for a lot of reasons than the baseball that is played now
here we go with this again. it doesn't matter how many times i address this nonsense, it will never die

Just being real. Been a fan a long time. Made multiple road trips to Omaha. This team is poorly coached and isn't very good. It sucks but that's the reality this year.

And to this point, has not had consistent leaders who step up and make the big play when the game is on the line. Every really good Tiger team has had this trait but this team struggles to be effective in pressure situations.

Hope that changes this week.

3rd place in the SEC West. That sounds familiar.

14 or 15 would be matched with #2 and #3, so possibly Vandy and Georgia.

Knowing how the NCAA works in these situations, I would not be shocked to see us sent to UCLA for their regional.

Or if we get to host a regional, we would be paired with UCLA.
