The team has some pretty good shooters but they need someone focusing on their shot execution and working with them on their shooting. They are undisciplined in their shot execution.

A little attention to some details would go a very long way with this team.

You are describing a young team which is exactly what we are.

No, he's not. We still look poorly coached.

Recruits don't want to go to a shitty program. TJ has had to turn the tide and his recruiting is picking up... not because he has been here but because this team is better each year than it was the year before.

Thank goodness TJ didn't burn every scholarship he had when he first hired on that was available. If he had we would be loaded with subpar players. For the first time in years are able to put five guys on the court that can play ball.

Now it is just a matter of keeping the ball rolling and building on getting some stand outs to go with the avg players.

Hickey was the start of that and Morgan will be the second.

Then hopefully Jerrell Martin and Bridgewater the year after that. The more I think about it the more I think I'm gonna like our teams for at least the next 2-3 years

Don't get too excited by beating the bottom teams of the SEC. Yes LSU has improved, but they are no final four team

After going 22-40 with 5 SEC wins combined in the last 2 seasons, I'm thinking 16-10, 6-6 with possible post season play ahead is pretty exciting for this team.

No one is saying/thinking that Duke, Kentucky, and NC need to start thinking bout LSU basketball, but why is it so dang hard to accept the idea that this team is doing what everyone has been bitching for going onto 3 years...winning and playing respectable round ball???

TJ is not a bad coach, but I'm not sure if he can be create the right level of excitement to bump up recruiting. LSU is middle to bottom or the pack for SEC recruiting. LSU may not be able to compete with KY, but Florida level of recruits should be a possible.

You picked the wrong side of the ball to argue this. I'd agree with you on offense for the most part, but they play good defense this year

you have no idea what good defense looks like

I couldn't give a shite if you think it "looks" good. We give up 63.4 ppg, that's a good average (Fourth in the SEC behind UK, Bama and Georgia)

The season has been fun to watch! We are winning some close games. Coach TJ hasn't made me a believer yet, but we are atleast winning.

People are having a tough time accepting that a black man is turning the program around. Remember what Tim Brando said a couple of years ago about LSU basketball fans or lack there of.
i dont think thats the case but i see your point and there will always be those type of fans .imo its this entitlement that the fans think lsu should have ,its a win now and win every game and win by a blowout that for some reason fans think they deserve.fans are never happy with our coaches, just last year people wanted cpm gone because lsu baseball should be in the cws every year.also clm is on the hot seat with fans every week and to some fans should be fired even though he was 22-3 the last two years (not good enough)i love lsu and for the most part our fans are a very passionate group of people but there are a lot of cry baby whiny little bitches out there also.if you give our basketball team uconn duke or Kentucky's record the last four years you would have unhappy fans who would want a coaching change.

I agree with all of this surf.

For TJ to win with his offensive philosiphy to let his kids have such freedom to shoot and create, he'll need players who can do that consistently successfully.

And while he's finally getting some players who can play a little at this level, and with Morgan coming in who by all accounts will be one too, he still has too many who can't on the roster.

Our defense is slightly above average. Perimeter defense is pretty good but our post defense is really bad. Justin Hamilton is a terrible defender..has no footwork and does not block out very well..JOBIII shows a lot of promise but is often called for ridiculous fouls..he's gotten used to it by now you can tell..Storm is our best defensive player..everyone knows that..Malcolm White is decent..good shotblocker..sometimes takes that risk too much...Ludwig is one of the worst defensive players at that level of college that I've ever seen. We need a big body (Glen Davis) and a shot blocker(Tyrus Thomas) and lsu has neither defensively..Hamilton should be getting at least 2.5 to 3 a game to be considered a shotblocker by the way. Thabeet got like 3.5 at UCONN. Anyways I love this team but our defense is key because this offense is very good in transition..when we give up baskets and have to go to a half court set were lacking in understanding the offense and honestly we don't have the players for the offense we run....yet but it will come and you will think Trent is a genius..They are a true scoring guard away from being extremely dangerous. Stringer is not Marcus Thornton..not even close but if We can get a true scorer/slasher we will be very dangerous.

the post defense would be much, much better if trent would double down every now and then. ezeli had a field day against us.

Agree that Hamilton has been lacking in post defense one on one sometimes. However he has been very effective with help defense. Jumping out on screens and forcing the man with the ball away from the basket, cutting off driving lanes when someone's man gets past them, and leaving his man to block shots. Hickey, for all of his quickness, lets his man get around him way too often. Turner has gotten better but still plays matador defense occasionally. Storm and Bass have been very solid defensively. Ludwig looks bad sometimes because of his lack of quickness but he is nowhere as bad as you state. He is actually pretty good most of the time being taller than most SF.

John Brady.

Any player signed by John Brady would be a 5th year senior right now. If you have 5th year seniors in basketball, your recruiting is not going well.

Actually, Brady's last recruiting class includes Storm Warren, who is a 4th year senior. Your point is taken, but you are a year off.
