DID YOU SEE THE OFFICIAL SEPTH CHARG WITH TJ LISTED BEFORE JOHNSON?

Maybe if you'd calm down, your spelling would be better.

I never read depth charts before the season. They are pretty meaningless. All I know is that all the talk was about Johnson looking impressive (for a freshman), and I really didn't hear much of anything about Finley. Obviously, something has changed between now and then.

I have no personal favorite. Just hoping to see these kids develop and play well.

From the very beginning Finley was vilified on this site. He was supposed to have an attitude problem, selfish, highly inaccurate even when his accuracy was higher than Johnson's as juniors, he was not SEC quality and would never start at LSU, he was too tall, he was too heavy, he lacked intelligence, too slow, he couldn't be as good as Johnson because Johnson's father was an NFL QB and his uncle is Mark Ritch, etc, etc.

I have never seen anyone mention Finley has an attitude problem. Not saying it hasn't happened, but doesn't seem to be the norm conversation around here.

I have seen that he is inaccurate, but that same criticism has gone to both Freshmen.. They both threw around 50% in high school? If anything, I have seen more people say Johnson had worse accuracy but could run better.

I have seen people say that Johnson comes from an NFL QB and gets a ton of personal training from his father. Not sure if that matters, but also not sure that's a bad thing. When it's a tight competition I am sure people will look for any slight edge.

I just hate that everything has to be racial. It's so frustrating.

Let's see how they play and evaluate. I hope Finley tears it up. If he's successful then his size is actually a positive, not a negative. If he's not then maybe he is slow. I have no idea what to expect. I'll wait to see how they play before forming opinions. Opinions that aren't racially motivated.

So why do you guys make the statement you don't like everything being about race when someone else state true facts about the different treatment of players. What I stated about the treatment of Finley is true and didn't mention race. It only brought up the different treatment, which is factual.

You hate things are so racial and it is so frustrating to you. Imagine what it feels like for someone, oh say, like Finley, when he sees an obvious difference in treatment and attempt to vilify him. Think he might be a bit more frustrated experiencing it than you hearing about it?

You've never seen where anyone mentioned he had an attitude problem? Maybe it didn't register with you because you didn't hate him experiencing the vilification. That didn't frustrate you. When he first came on the radar as a recruit, there were some claiming he had a bad attitude. Later when he posted his stats after a loss, some were claiming he was selfish, as if one had anything to do with the other. And of course the complaints of his inaccuracy, slowness, height and weight.

The same thing happened to D'Eriq King when he was mentioned as a possible transfer. Vilified! The same happened to Caleb Williams and Justin Fields. Each was labeled as having bad attitudes, selfish, quitters, character issues and of course highly inaccurate. Not suitable or good fits for LSU's offense. It's a pattern.

Go on over to the recruiting board. There is a thread about TJ Finley in which his leadership is questioned on the first page. I have seen TJ described as selfish, lazy, and withdrawn from his teammates numerous times. It’s BS, and I agree with you that it is absolutely racially charged. It’s sad.

To BayouCatFan and Burreauxxx, frick you both. To suggest that the coaches are starting TJ to throw off the opponent because max is actually better or to use him as a sacrificial lamb because they want to spare Johnson’s confidence is asinine. That is not how coaches make decisions. You play to win the game and you put your players in the best position to perform well because you care about them and because your job depends on it. You both suck balls.

The guy who said Johnson is a better playmaker even though he hasn’t seen either play, ForeverEllisHugh, fricking moron as well.

Thank you for clarifying. I certainly don't pay as much attention to the recruiting board.

I just know I haven't seen any of that around here (Tiger Rant.)

I certainly don't mean to offend or insult when I say I personally prefer very mobile QBs in college. TD passes are even better though. I'm excited to see TJ as well as Max (whenever that may be.)

He played for one of the greatest fundamental high school coaches in Louisiana history. He'll be tough if anything. Hank knows football.

Now I do remember all this from the recruiting board during high school up and continuing into even this week.

I personally thought Max Johnson would be the heir apparent to Brennan since his senior year and until I saw that little 2 minute video in the offseason about Finley during his early entry into LSU and his offseason, I really thought he could compete with Johnson. Looks like he improved enough to do just that.
