We will see what happens

$ Strong and Accurate Arm

This is my biggest concern with Finley. I saw some cringe worthy high school low lights. When Finley misses the ball sails on him. Throwing to the boundary this is not a bad place to miss. But throwing over the middle it's a terrible place to miss.

Accuracy is also my biggest concern with Max.

Hopefully good coaching and footwork can improve their accuracy.

You better let the coaches know this! Because Max is absolutely already QB 2 in their eyes.

Love when people come on here claiming to know which Freshman is ahead of which before practice has even took off.

Remember everyone who claimed Emery was going to be ahead of Clyde and TDP? How’d that work out?

If Brennan gets injured, and has to leave a game, either Finley or Johnson will be playing meaningful minutes. If he does not get injured neither will see a single meaningful play.

Well no shite. You’re retarded if you think I meant he was going to beat out Brennan. Just that if Brennan gets hurt, it wouldn’t shock me if Finley came in before Johnson. Wouldn’t surprise me if Johnson came in before Finley either. I just don’t think it’s

Brennan

Johnson

Finley

like a lot of folks seem to.

If anyone hasn't seen GNs film, go watch it. He'll be competing for the #2 job by late 2021 and could be the starter beyond that. Kid is for real.

Lol he does not have an accurate arm.

Now you tell us after coach has wasted a scholarship. I'm surprised E and O didn't recognize that.

Saw him play multiple times. Footwork and accuracy was horrible. I see he is working out doing drills to improve that aspect of his game . The no doubter is the big arm. May the best man win

Brennan for two years, then Nussmeier. Finley has a ton of growth to be a starter. I don't think he or Max start without injuries

The list of legacy QB”s that make it big time is short, Manning and Luck.
There have only been a few others, Griese and Sims, that did have any pro career
at all. Most of these kids have been overrated because they are so much better
prepared than their high school opponents because of the coaching they have received
growing up. Hopefully Johnson beats that trend, but I also look for Finley to challenge
because he has come in ready to work hard to correct his mechanics issues, which should lead to him being much more accurate.

Bookmark this one - Barring multiple injuries, TJ Finley will NEVER play a snap in a live game for LSU.

I said this a long time ago. People see the big arm and fall in love. There’s a lot more to it than that. I bet you could get some great quotes from his former Ponchatoula teammates on what kind of leader he was.

Brennan will start for the next 2 years and everything I see of Max Johnson tells me he's the 2nd best QB on the team. ..I was talking to a former player and he said that Max Johnson will become the next great Qb @ LSU...

85-95% of the discussions on this board are conjectures, guesses and predictions. That's the beauty of this board, some people are right and some are wrong. I just want success for my Tigers and so should you.

TJ helped recruit this class. He committed and never wavered. If he doesn't start in a few years it won't be because of a lack of effort. High character guy from a solid family. I don't like all the abuse he takes from children on this board. He has class. Something a lot of posters on this sight lack. I'll pull for whoever wins the job. We finally are getting a competitive group to work with. I only wish them all the best.

People have said accuracy is his problem. Hard to know until he gets to campus what causes that.
Brandon Harris was on campus for multiple years and we never found out what caused his accuracy issues, as the problem was never corrected. (I doubt if even Joe Brady could've fixed it)

Some QB's have "Between the Ears" dysfunction that can't be fixed by anybody...….

A lot depends on what happens with Parrish. If he is back on the team in the fall I can see both Finley and Johnson redshirting.
Max Johnson will be the backup even if Parrish is back on the team. He'll even push Brennan. He's another Burrow in the making and we'll see that in the first week of practice...…..

Who knows? He seemed to get the yips in games. A lot of people thought Fedora could coach him up, but he did as bad if not worse at UNC. You can be a very smart kid, but it's the ability to stay calm under duress and rapidly process that make the difference.

I really liked Harris and thought he'd be a very good QB for LSU. Unfortunately for him and LSU it just didn't work out.
