Found this place on Monday. A little off the beaten path, not sure what it looks like or the area. Just a place to get my drunk sleep on.
Rooms were like 60.00 a night

I have a room at the Hilton, but some friends just booked a room at the Clarion Hotel on Gervais. I looked it up and its right across the street from Campus, but there must be some reason it still has rooms and its prob not a good reason.

I've never stayed there before but my Pops has. I have been there though and from what I remember it wasnt bad at all. I know they have done some reservations in the past few years...the Clarion that is.

Not available. I guess I will keep mine that I originally posted but hopefully something will open up downtown. Maybe a cancellation...

The Clarion is a good spot. You're right, it's right across from campus and is right in the middle between Five Points and the Vista. If you're staying there you'll be fine.

The Clarion still has rooms as of 2:53 pm for Friday night, but not Saturday night.

It's in a good area, but the hotel looks pretty nasty from the outside. I drive past there all the time. You'd be better off staying at one of the newer hotels at Garner's Ferry and i-77.

Staying at Embassy Suites (just our favorite chain). Please tell me it is not in the DMZ?

So, what is the consensus on a Friday night bar and Saturday tailgate? Nothing like a bunch of Tiger fans out of town...

It's right off the interstate and a good location . . . although the only bar nearby is Platinum Plus.

We're staying off Airport Blvd in Cayce. I heard its pretty close to the stadium and not in a bad area. We're really excited about the game. It's my 11 year old daughters first LSU football game. My son and husband normally go to one or two a year but she just got old enought to become interested in football. Now finally, I get to go. We've been away from BR for 13 years so its been a long, long time. CANT WAIT!!!

I have relatives from the area who I'll be meeting up with before the game. They said they tailgate at "The Barn" where is this relative to the stadium?

SC is a very nice trip. Made my first and only trip in 2003 championship year. We owned them. They only depressing thing about the trip was as soon as we walked from the stadium, my cell blew up that Blanco was the new gubner. I made the trip solo and left BR @ 3:00 pm Friday. Arrived in Columbia around 1:45amish. If you are lucky George Rogers will be there in his van with his back doors open with his Heisman Trophy for viewing. It is kind of said really. We were with my friends handicapped brother and they let us on the field before the game. Beautiful field and grass. Geaux Tigers....no more delay of game on kickoff. Is Curly back?

One more thing, be sure and get you a bucket of BOJANGLES FRIED CHICKEN!! The breasts are incredible. Huge, moist, full of flavor. The caboose is fun but kind of lame. But that is their thing. Gotta luv the SEC!!! Very nice tata's. Older fans did get upset when I stood up and cheered when we did something positive. The best quote from the old guy behind me was, "You need to go over to the other side of the stadium with the other purple people." LOL
