USC and Mizzou are comparable passing offenses and we gave up 411 passing to Mizzou vs UF’s 313

their shitty schedule and Utah’s QB being injured and not playing

Tennessee dropped 280
Vandy Dropped 280
South Carolina Dropped 313

Kentucky did only throw for 69. I guess you can be psyched about stopping the pass while a team runs for 329 yards on you.

Not like Florida wasn’t 83 in passing defense his first year there

Not like he took over a top 25 Passing defense from 2021.

Florida’s numbers will drop once they play us, FSU and Missouri.

except they’re not. South Carolina doesn’t not have the talent at WR that Mizzou does.

Go look up the single game SEC record for passing yards and guess who was the DB coach for the secondary that allowed it.

Why does Raymond get all the blame for bad stuff during the period where he wasn’t the sole DB coach? Not saying he didn’t have his bad points, but it’s always been interesting to me that Busch gets no flak.

They kinda are, actually:

Total passing -
USC - 15
Mizz - 16

Pass efficiency -
USC - 30
Mizz - 10

USC has also played a much tougher schedule

The truth is somewhere in the middle. I think Raymond either got too comfortable here or maybe was frustrated that he didn't get the DC job twice under O and packed it in. Starting new seemed to light a fire under him and he is back to the way he was before 2020, really before 2019 because the pass D was not particularly great that season, though it was leaps and bounds better than this season.

People dont understand the chemistry he had in louisiana with many of the high school coaches and other out of state kids that believed in the DBU aura that surrounded LSU. Kids wanted to be DBU. This DBU title had no mojo that carried over to Florida. Florida was never called DBU and Corey isnt from there either. First thing out of these idots mouth's are he cant coach and he left us in shite. Before you start that he didnt start dbu, it doesnt matter, just look at the list of dbs he coached and got here. Nough said. What coach is gonna recruit for the school who knows he will get canned by the new coach. What kid is gonna come knowing Corey was having to leave. As long as he was here, his DBs played hard and balled out. He had several, several dbs who balled out at LSU for years. He took lower pay for years until the last few. He has a title ring, played for LSU, is from South lousiana(coteau), and played in the league for 8 yrs or so, none of you arm chair qb idiots have. The fact that you diots hate Corey means your boy got benched or you did. None of you frickers know what kind of man and coach he was. It really doesnt matter tbw, he got the players here. If you hate and played under him, 9 times out of 10 your just mad cause you didnt play. All this, he recruited sell outs blah blah is dumb. When BK canned him, alot of potential top talent went else where. Not just dbs but other positions. He has a pipeline all along south louisiana and chemistry is undeniable. Hate all you want but Coach Kelly not retaining Corey was a Major Fail. These transfers the present coaches got here from crab apple cove university for the secondary wouldnt even been considered by Corey. He would have gotten players that were "better". Hate all you want but facts bro. Corey in the end was a bigger asset to LSU than BK was/is right now.

He was the best in the country for a very long time. A couple down years doesn’t change that. I’m honestly surprised there is such animosity for a guy who consistently produced many of the best DBs in LSU’s history

Coaching-wise, that’s likely. Recruiting is the risk with him. He has no track record recruiting P5, much less SEC-level. Many here assume he will just walk in the door and kill it there, but we don’t know that.

He deserves every fricking bit of it for the way he stopped giving a shite and let the secondary completely fall apart in both coaching and recruiting. Same with O. You diminish your legacy when you end it by fricking things up as badly as they both did.

That’s your opinion, man. He killed it here and he’s otw to killing it at Florida. Go ask the many players he put in the league and the ones he’s going to. He is a legend regardless of what you think

who knows...but that entire staff packed it in and it started at the top with Coach O.

Im wise enough to understand that Raymond isnt coming back to LSU under Kelly because he wasnt retained... but I just find it comical that this board thinks that Raymond is worse than what we currently have. We downgraded and its showing. Theres a reason why Kirby Smart tried to grab him. We've literally hit rock bottom when it comes to our secondary play and Blue-Chip recruiting at CB. Now they trying to convince themselves that stars dont matter and stating that EVERY 3-star commitment will be the next Jefferson or Mathieu when history tells us that a most of those guys usually need about 3 seasons to develop into starters.
