The only true SS on the team, other than Thompson, is Connor Simon, a freshman who is still recovering from a fractured elbow he suffered the beginning of his Senior baseball season. He had a recovery setback and won’t be able to play this season. Hopefully he will be ready to play summer ball.

The thing is, he started playing better but then this weekend happened. He’s been killing it at the plate lately. He’s gonna be the guy. That’s all we’ve got. He will get better but idk that it will be up to average even

Thompson is easily our best option at SS. Sure, he needs more consistency, but no one else on the roster can make the plays he can, or produce on offense.

The dude leads the sec in errors as a shortstop. He’s stinking it up

What is Simons injury exactly? He sat out his senior year of high school and is sitting this year as well. 2 years to recover from what exactly?

See my post above. An olecranon fracture is a difficult fracture to set. If it doesn’t heal like it’s suppose to, for whatever reason, you can continue to experience pain related to the fracture. Not to mention the ulnar nerve runs medial to the olecranon and any swelling can cause ulnar nerve pain.

Cranford is the best defensive option, but the bat is something to be desired.
