I agree. UF fans are excited to see what Brantley can do in meaningful minutes with the first team offense.

He's not playing, and Brantley is probably a top-tier SEC QB right now.

I agree...however, its pretty damn hard for any qb to have their first career start on the road in a hostile environment in a GIGANTIC game.

Intra-squad scrimmage. He looks pretty athletic, but there's a difference between a quiet home stadium where the other team isn't allowed to tackle you, and a legit game between top 5 teams.

Most of it was Gator Spring Game, but at the end they showed him in real games as the Gator QB. I was thinking the same thing you were that ... the other team isn't allowed to tackle... but he ran it against the real teams he played later in the video and looked pretty fearless. I watched him in the Kentucky game last year when he came into play, and like that tape (and reading his bio) shows, the guy looks really, really good. But yeah, being that this will be his first start, the whole offense will be relying on him, huge game, Florida's toughest game of the regular season, on the road, hostile environment, etc... I hope it all gets to him.

It's tape from him at UF against UGA, UK, Citadel and some footage from this year's spring game.

So you're saying mop-up duty and spring game highlights = top-tier SEC QB? Really?

I thought you had to be cleared seven days before a game in order to play, which means he needed the green light last Saturday...from all indicators, he didn't get it....

Does anyone know if that's a legit rule?

Not legit. He could not practice all week and then start on Saturday.

Wow. Vegas has dropped the line on the game, not taking bets right now after that announcement.

The Gators' coaches will have two full weeks to game plan for a new QB, so I wouldn't expect them to try and run the same offence. Disadvantage LSU because we have no video of what the Florida offencne will look like Saturday night.
That said it still should be a great game.

Go Tiger!

Negative. Meyer has a system and recruits to the system as do most. He isnt going to change the whole offense bc of a diff qb. No one will ever operate it to the level that Tebow does but they will run the same system

I heard the same crap from UGA people about Joe Cox. How great he was going to be because he was undefeated. That guy sucks especially for a 5th year senior. If they had Stafford, they would have won.

So, Brantley is in the same category as Cox. And, i don't care how good he was in mop up duty/high school but his arse is about to get throw into the tiger's den aka Thunderdome!!! No chance.
LSU advantage with no Tebow. FLorida needs to Tebow to win this game. So, be worried Florida...

Anyway to turn the stadium lights into strobes for a few freek minutes?

Wonder if Tebow does play, does he come out with a tinted visor and could that affect his perception of the game?

am I the only one that wouldn't want to be the Dr. that said Tebow was clear to play? Imagine if Tebow plays and gets another concussion, how much of a jackass would the Dr. that cleared him look like.

There is no line. I meant it has been dropped altogether, not that it fell. A friend of mine checked after he heard that and confirmed that they are not taking bets right now.
