this will prove to be a horrible idea for them though, because when they fail, instead of just one or two of them getting canned, all of them will be out on their arse...
We can't afford another Joe Dean as AD. It hurt us for years and put us behind the other SEC schools. Fortunately, LSU has a HUGE fan base and can right itself, but with all the debt for construction projects, this is a stupid decision by Alleva. frick him, if we go as I sense we will.

I guess we can draw from this that Les thinks having all that talent at Crowton's disposal and being 108th in offense is "quality" play calling.
There is such a thing as too much loyalty.
Les ownes Crowton now. He can't distance himself from anything Crowton does from here out. They are joined at the hip.
No running from it next year when we run a screen on 3rd and 1 or a short side option on 3rd and 14.
Les owns every play call next year.

Pretty suprised at this since he pretty much threw him under the bus after the Ole Miss game.....

It doesn't matter who the OC is next year. Les' fate depends on if/how much we improve.

I'm really nervous that Miles is safe next year regardless, and that's why he is so hesitant to make a change.

yep.... the more i think about it, this very possibly could have been Miles' way of gaining more control over the offense... next season, if he doesn't like a play call, he may be the one to dial up what we run, rather than Crowton...
it sort of makes sense, though it doesn't... keeping Crowton when it is blatantly obvious that NO ONE wants him to stay very well could be a ploy by Miles to get more control over the offense, since he evidently didn't have much this season and it bit him in the arse...

Oh, no. That seat is going to be damn hot. Playing like we did this year will result in 6 losses next year. Mississippi State and Arkansas will beat us and I won't be surprised to see us lose to UNC & WVU.

Like a slip screen to the middle of the field in a major bowl game with 30 seconds left, no time outs and needing to get into field goal range?

BS....I call baloney on this, the dummy after the Ole Miss game said he would take more control.....and the result is the fiasco at the end of the Penn St. game which arguably was the most assinine call of them all.

so basically, the staff learned NOTHING from the arky game to the penn st game...

You must mean the arky game of 2007.

what he said, and what actually happened may be totally different.... both of us have no idea...
look at it this way... Miles hears the criticism of both he and Crowton... i'm sure he's smart enough to know we want Crowton gone now, and we'll give him a pass next season... by not doing this, he has to know his arse is now firmly on the hot seat... you have to logically conclude that he has some personal interest in doing this, b/c from all angles it's not the smartest thing to do... he's a gambling man, and this is ace in the hole...
keep the "puppet" OC in place, get more freedom to call his own plays, override Crowton's etc., and deflect blame when applicable... you don't think he's gonna sit there and say to Crowton "you know you should be gone, i saved your arse, now i'm calling the shots, and there's not a lot you can do about it"?
this seems to be the only reason i can come up with... of course, i have no idea, but searching for some sort of answer, this is all i could come up with...

He's the head coach, the honcho getting paid 4 million......he better damn well have the freedom to override Crowtons calls or we really have problems.
I think if he runs Crowton out and the offense improves he has some slack next year (for up to 4 or so losses - depending on the circumstances)......if Crowton comes back and they lose 4 or more...I think the seat is an inferno by next December.

he has the power to, but very, very rarely actually utilizes that power.... he trusts in the game plan that he and his coaches have come up with, and is willing to stick to that game plan, regardless...
Miles is ferverently loyal, and will stick by his guy/idea/gameplan, etc.... it may not be the way you or i like it, but that's him... right or wrong, good or bad, he's going to stick with what HE thinks is good for the program, even if it is pretty obvious it's not... only under severe circumstances will he make a change, and i don't think, in his mind, it has reached "severe" yet... he may not be around to realize it, when he finally does

A la Dinardo.

yeah... a la Dumbnardo...
but it is what it is... LSU should have known what they were getting when they hired him, but they were so worried about getting someone to preserve recruits, i think they sorta overlooked alot of signs of the mistake they were making... and it's progressed and progressed and finally is becoming realized now...
