Cool.

Maybe it's when it's the first game of the season at home. Anyways, I don't care.

I just said unless the OOC team refuses it, which Oregon State obviously did.

It was crazy humid for that game. Then came all the rain.

The purple jerseys are a sad reminder of the "dark times" when "coaches who shall not be named" were screwing up a great program. The white jerseys came back, and then came the championships.
12 years of purple jerseys, 3 SEC titles. 21 years of white jerseys, 4 SEC titles.

2011 was a weird year anyway since we only had two OOC home games, so we probably still wanted to wear them twice. I highly doubt that they just wanted to "change it up" for Northwestern St.

In 1995, the rule changed from "home team wears color, road team wears white" to "home team chooses, pending road team's approval." Sometime in the late 1990's the SEC made its own rule eliminating the road team's veto. The NCAA's current rule states that the home team wears color, road team white, unless both teams agree in writing to switch, or unless both teams agree in writing to both wear their colored jerseys if their colors contrast.

Home team picks the color, visiting team has to pick a contrasting color (see USC vs UCLA wearing red and blue)

Oregon State wanted to wear white and LSU CHOSE to wear purple (rather than gold). At the time, it is how the rule was written.

Incorrect for NCAA games. Home team has to wear colored jersey unless given permission.

The rule used to be you had to get approval by the visiting team to wear white. Years ago they changed it so where the home team picks no matter what the visiting team wants.

Dude, it is still the rule for NCAA games........

quote:

The home team must wear colored jerseys. White jerseys are allowed for the home team only if the two teams have agreed in writing before the season
