70's into 80's A&M and Arkansas

Nice rivalry, Arkansas and LSU did not meet in either decade. There was no game between 1966 and 1992.

Here are the teams we've played more than 50 times. Bold are series that have win percentages for LSU between 40% and 60%.

Mississippi State 74-35-3
Ole Miss 62-41-4
Tulane 69-22-7
Alabama 25-53-5
Florida 29-33-3
Arkansas 40-22-2
Kentucky 40-16-1
Texas A&M 33-20-3
Rice 38-13-5
Auburn 30-22-1

I'd say it's clearly Ole Miss, from a historical standpoint. From a more modern standpoint, I'd say Florida is approaching that status.

Good thing you’re not the governor.
Like island hopping in WWII, we’ve bypassed them and are letting them starve to death.

Traditionally Fulane was our rival, followed by Old Piss, the ATM cash dispensers, then Auburn, and finally Alabama and Florida. Bama is no longer because we haven’t competed lately, but who has?

TAMU wants to be our rival like ULL. And like Ooolala they cannot be until they can complete with us. I can see this becoming a rivalry eventually because unlike Lafayette, they eventually will compete and they are currently just as annoying.

Tigers 10-2.
Aggies again 7-5 but hay, they pay more for their coach!

Early years BEFORE they left the SEC was absolutely Tulane. Then, starting with the great games of the late 50's, throughout the 60's and into the 70's, Ole Miss became the hated rival. I don't think it has really rubbed away very much since for BOTH teams. So, in essence, even today, I would say LSU's primary hated rival is still Ole Miss.

Tulane was in state rival but never really good enough to matter

Pre-1950.

Tulane voluntarily left behind big time college athletics. They might have declined anyway, but they walked away.

When were they "great"?
