How about that early 2000s pregame video with the CGI Mike the Tiger running around Baton Rouge, leaping over buildings on campus, etc? I can’t find it anywhere but I’m sure it exists because somebody on TD posted a link a few months ago. tGOAT hype video
I used to love this video, brings back memories to a time in life when LSU football meant everything to me. I also freaking loved that song that played from this video right up to the point that the kicker struck the opening kickoff. It was a distorted electric guitar playing a fairly simple tune. Kind of cheesy but it got me so hyped and I still remember that song.

Only time music from the PA system was played is during the third quarter when the band took a break.

Filling it with actual fans who scream demonically until the end of the game.

Standing the entire game too. The fan base was hungrier then

Don’t neuter the band. Let them play.
Quit jacking with tailgating
Get rid of Woodward and Tate.

Hot undergrads giving me an OTPHJ after the Tigers score. Not sure it qualifies as a tradition since it only happened 3 times out of the ~40 games I attended in my long and mediocre undergrad career. But it would be cool if someone other than mikelbr would touch my dick in the stadium.

After the games, when fans were in the stadium headed out we shouted “LSU, LSU” all the way out the stadium. That was loud and really unnerving to opposing fans. Miss those days.

Players that care more about LSU and less about themselves

3. A student section that gave a shite about the game. I remember after big touchdowns looking up and dodging flying cups. Today you are lucky if the students look up from their phones to watch the game.
I graduated in the early 2000’s. This was still an awesome tradition then, but toward the end of my student section years it was much tougher to sneak enough whiskey in to waste. Mostly, bc of the multiple checkpoints with troopers frisking us head to toe after 9/11

Crowd attendance would be a good start.

I loved those as well, but I think with the fast paced way the game is played now, those are all but impossible. They still try to do them but they never get to go through even half the song before they cut the song off now. It sucks, but I understand why they don't seem to happen much anymore. And it's not for lack of trying.
I'm not sure which hand gestures yall are referring to. Did they coincide with what we -the band - played for those downs?
The band often has to cut those cheers off early due to an SEC rule that states once the center touches the football, the band must cut off I think its a dumb rule, myself. But I obviously don't have a say in the matter.
