It's bad but look at the focal points of most stadiums and it's an end zone area. The shoe. Bama. Hell, lots of stadiums like uga don't have an outer focal point. It needs improvement though for sure. The steps this year have been promising.

I'm underwhelmed, but the "ZOMG it's the ugliest shite I've ever seen!" comments are just silly

How the design firm is still in business or the selection of the design ever got the OK is beyond me.

It was probably the cheapest bid and they went with it.

At the time they probably thought it would look ok, but since then Bama, Tennessee, and Auburn have all renovated the exterior of their stadiums and all of theirs look much better than what we got stuck with.

Our iconic area is the north stadium portion.

not ever. Just in the SEC. And we're talking about the bricks and window slats more so than the new shite.

the main problem, IMO, with the westside are the bricks and the window slats. if that were some how remedied I don't think it would be nearly as bad but its so damn busy now

I agree. I think just a massive concrete structure--like the old west upper was--would have been better. Don't know why they needed to tile the support beams, but that was in the original plan. I also never have liked the slats when the originally put them up. They looked pretty cool in the architectural renderings, but didn't translate well in reality.

I guess it could be worse. I'm just happy they are finally doing a major renovation to the facility. I love nearly everything Alleva has done to the stadium since he has been in charge.

that's definitely the best looking portion. South will be nice as well. maybe just some banners over those brick columns would help.

True. Hopefully they don't screw with that.

Is it true that there will be an even bigger video board (aka ad board) installed at some point?

I agree totally. I think their hands are tied with the window slats, supposedly they keep the windows from falling. Horrible and ugly design, but was probably cheaper. Any brick can be painted however. But the slats look like rusty prison windows.

I think they can just be taken down. I think they are just "cosmetic."

If tenn and other schools can fix their facade so can we.

Sure, its just a giant waste of money. Unlike those schools with decades old facades, this side was built in 2005/2006 and it immediately was brought up how bad it was needing a facelift as new construction. Its just an unacceptable waste of money and I really hope someone got fired over it, because if they didn't, I need to have their job security.

I like the improvements.

Now if they would just replace the flags they had lining the east side...why did they ever take those down?

It's an "Improvement" over what was there before, put poorly planned and executed. It's getting tackier and more "Vegas" looking by the day.

None of the design elements match. The upper deck additions don't match the original structure and all these newer "Improvements" don't match either.

Do we need TWO Tiger Stadium logos on the front? Don't need that huge P + G TS logo up there on the West Upper and the smaller one on the central entrance arch? How about a "Welcome to Death Valley" up there instead.

Don't need the Scotty Moran sign either. Don't care how much money he donated, Give himm a nice plaque or something.

And, what are those cheesy domino looking boxes on top of the stone columns? Tacky beyond belief.

I can see a lot of upset "PTB" (Powers that Be) moving to do something about this mess legally, if just to make a point! Just wait and see what happens after the first home game..........
