I remember this being proposed in the offseason. Scott Van Pelt went on a rant about it on his show. I'm guessing it has been put on the back burner due to lack of recent news. Any updates? Holdup from the LSU side or from SEC rules?

They recently tore out the old dorms. My guess is it could go there. Could easily use beer carts for now before building a more permanent structure.

No way it could have been done this off-season. They just finished clearing out the area it will be located.

Think the SEC Office denied LSU or the SEC .... the right to sell beer at stadiums.

If I recall there was a loophole rumored where TAF would buy a section of the stadium. The beer garden would be built there.

However, you would only be allowed to drink in that section as it would be an area not owned by the university.

The way TS is set up, you would have to have a ticket in the section of the stadium the beer garden is in to have access. So If they put it below the SUD, the only way you're getting beer is if you have tix in the SEZ or any section that connects to it.

No, only entrance and exit will be outside of the stadium. NO exit into the stadium.

It is going to happen and everyone in the stadium will have access to it.

It's going to be called a "lounge" where fans can escape the heat, have a beer (confined to the lounge area), and watch other games as well. SEC highly frowned upon the term "Beer Garden" and told LSU to change the terminology.

I don't know if it will be open for week 1 though.

That's pretty sexy. I can get on board with that. What's your source?

sorry for partying?

ETA: upping the legal drinking age took a toll on the party scene at LSU

A good friend works for Armamark (new food vendor) and said the goal is for next year to open the beer garden.
