I would love to have a copy of that photo hanging on my wall. Does anybody know where I can get a copy?

Someone posted a picture on here some months back that showed the north end zone partially built and you could make out the flag pole at field level on the NW corner.

Middleton Library is the armpit of LSU's campus. The inside is equally as terrible as the outside.

Middleton is in a great location, kind of ruins the quad, but is still in a great location. They should tear it down and rebuild it with the uniform architecture of the quad (pebble exterior with spanish tiled rooftop).

Thank you and everyone else who shares these glimpses of the past with us. I thoroughly enjoy it when a historical thread makes its way onto the Rant.

Full of fail.

It ruins the quad, and the original design that was created for LSU by the Olmstead Group. And its an Italian Rennassance design, not spanish.

Is there a database with all of these old TS/Campus pictures on them?

No, its not. It goes along with the dumbshits of the 50's-70's who had no appreciation/forward thoughts to design.

When it was built, there were plenty of other locations that would be more suitable then fricking with something that the greatest Landscape Architect/Master Planner created.

I'm sure they are in Hill Memorial.

no one here is saying it makes the design of the quad good. Being a student, the location of the quad was great. It was very convenient. It's right in the middle of everything.

middleton is not in a great location. The building alienates the buildings behind it and the exxon quad.

I own this slide and picture of TS in 51 (I believe). I found a group of slides, and two were on campus during a game, one of TS, and one of a dorm with "Beat Ole Miss", so thats why I guessing it is 1951:

Plus some pics from the late 40's of snow on campus:

Ah yes, I see it now. The design building is another building that could have been alot nicer.

Yea, but at least they didn't put it in the middle of the quad.

I thought that was Johnston Hall. Check out this map. I am guessing the picture is looking to the south west towards that building:
