This may have been done before. Apologies if so. I’m new here. We’re in sports doldrums. Who is your Mt. Rushmore? Top four all-time. Players only. Based on what they did at LSU, not afterward. Opinions may be age based, so I’ll I was there from ‘76-‘81. Here’s mine:

FOOTBALL

Billy Canon
Tommy Casanova
Joe Burreaux
Charles Alexander

BASKETBALL

Pistol
Shaquille
Bob Petit
Chris Jackson

BASEBALL

Ben McDonald
Eddy Furniss
Todd Walker
Aaron Nola

You can make an argument for the other sports but you can’t make a case for anyone else in basketball

Hodson and Honey are two of my all-time favorites. But can only have four. My son posed this Mt. Rushmore thing to me. Basketball was easy. Baseball was actually toughest. I was a student when Alexander the Great was playing. Maybe a sentimental pick.

I’d like to put him top 4… I’m sitting out back with my 80 year old dad… he was adamant on Casanova and Jerry Stovall… I told him to pick one

Dylan Crews is knocking on the baseball door. Let's hope he can help add the 7th championship next year and pick up the golden spikes award to boot!

I don’t think he gets on the baseball Rushmore because he was a 1 year transfer but want to show some love for a criminally under appreciated Lloyd Peever

Basketball
You know the 4

Baseball
McDonald
Nola
Furniss
Walker

I went 2 pitchers 2 hitters, I want to put bregman on, but I don’t know who I would take off

Football
Glen Dorsey
Honey badger
Joey B
Billy cannon

The lack of Glen Dorsey on this thread is disturbing

Because you used career at LSU I had to eliminate Lloyd Peever who had the single greatest season at his position ever and there is little to debate. Peever should have won the Golden Spikes for that monster year.

I really wanted to add Kevin Faulk but I didn’t have room. It was really close between him and Stovall, but I went with Jerry. People who saw him know.

Football
Cannon (Heisman)
Stovall (had Heisman stolen finished second.)
Burrow ( Heisman)
Mathieu (5th in Heisman)

Basketball
Pete
Shaq
Jackson
Pettit

Baseball
Poche
McDonald
Walker
Furniss

Why did I pick Poche over Nola? Won more games than any pitcher ever and gave everything to the LSU.

Bregmen for baseball.

I’d put honey badger and Patrick Peterson over some of those old farts
