Have there been any meaningful updates by the band department for TB in 2020? Given preseason camp usually starts this week or the next I figure we should have heard something by now.

No road trips but band is still in tryouts and will be practicing in groups

I don't see how the band at games works with social distancing and mask requirements.

I don't think band will be allowed on field before or during halftime

They’re in the process of figuring out how game days and rehearsals will work. Once the stadium size is set, they will figure out how to space them outing more of the logistics. Since a lot of their practice is outside, there won’t be too many changes in what they do. However, they might split it up into two groups for rehearsals. I think they’re hoping some of the restrictions will lift soon so they’re able to do as much as possible normally, which is why they don’t have as many concrete plans in place. The important part is the directors have been told by the athletic department that as long as football happens, Tiger Band will be a part of it.

Going to be difficult to play a wind instrument with a mask on.

If they do play in the stands spaced out, they are going to sound loud as hell with 25% capacity.

stick them in the north end zone 6 feet apart. It’s not hard.

The hypocrisy is overwhelming......They have already announced their band camp is to be virtual (too dangerous to gather together for band camp). How is gathering together for rehearsal/game any safer?

You know how much spit and secretions they create with their instruments I just don’t see it. One band member gets it and they could have their own mini outbreak
