The coaches wouldn't let Mettenberger throw a pass on third-and-goal from Florida's 4. They would rather have a running back throw a jump pass. According to sources, the staff has little confidence in Mettenberger. That rightly stems from his two red-zone picks and fumbles earlier this year.
there's no link, but it's what he just posted.

but...damn.

A roll out pass on what basically a one receiver route. If not open, throw it away. The coaches are killing Mettenberger's development. He is not Jarrett Lee, Part Two. It starts with Miles.

Meh, Mett has not been exactly great there, and the jump has worked before. Had the receiver been open we would still be talking about how great of a call it was.

He does seem to have trouble with a very short field.

I would have liked to see a pass to the corner of the endzone with a one on one. I don't think we have tried that.

I don't think the RB pass was so much more confidence in Magee as it was simply trying to catch them off guard.

at the end of the day it tells you we have no qb. And, he's probably your qb next year.

Complete speculation on Lazarre's part. He shares sources with some of the Tards here.

Or it tells you Miles coaches scared. Mettenberger is completing over 61 percent of his passes despite the drops. Miles wants a conservative offense that does not allow the passing game to find any rhythm. The problem is not Mettenberger.

Our recievers aren't exactly physically imposing, and currently are not separating from defenders very well. And then, there is the whole catching thing.

However, I thought a quick slant may be worth a shot, to a guy like Jarvis.

Where is James Wright?

It was a 2 receiver route but the FB got tackled on his way out of the backfield.

Right. I'm sure they instructed him to turn it over in the redzone multiple times this year.

Lee was really good in the redzone. Even in his FR year. So I guess you are right about Mett not being Lee.

You have to earn your coach's trust. Turning the ball over multiple times in the redzone is not how you do that.

Of course, the head coach prefers our passing game to be in disarray. Brilliant.

Do some of you think before you post this stupid crap?

You think he purposely does NOT want our offense to be in rhythm? Wow.
