So you are saying can’t afford 1000 for family of four but when they do they leave at halftime? Funny. I am a season ticket holder for 26 years with 6 and continue to buy and support living locally. Only game in town so 10k a year for donation tickets and passes it is.

You missed the point entirely. The people who can afford it, often times, aren’t the typical fan that truly cares about the result. They are there for the entertainment, fun atmosphere and everything that goes along with it. When they get tired and don’t want to deal with traffic, they leave. Because they’ve got another $1,000 to spend next week.

Not saying it’s wrong or it should change. Just saying you can’t have drunk diehards screaming their arse off and charge that same guy $250 a pop.

Regular people can no longer afford it…hence the stadium emptying at halftime.

Are you insinuating that “regular” people stay the whole game and the people who leave early are …. What?

What a bunch of jealous bullshite.

The ones who CANNOT afford it likely never went to LSU.

Are you saying that poor people who never went to college care more about LSU than alumni who can afford it?

Where is the connection between money and fandom?

The main issue with people leaving early is the fact the game is over 4 hrs long. Every year they up the length of commercials and it sucks.

The emptying out being put on “normal” people not being able to afford is a joke. Everyone I sit by on the east side are regular working people.

People leave for a ton of reasons.. it’s a long day, most are too sloppy to even be there before kick. Games are long, in stadium amenities are absolutely terrible. Traffic is a whole issue in itself depending on route you take.

one of the best games I’ve seen from the crowd was the AM early kick last year.

What a poor take. You don’t think dropping over a grand to go to a football game is ridiculous and beyond the reach of a lot of normal people?

You think prices are high now wait till revenue sharing kicks in 2025
Depending on prices next year this may be my last rodeo as season ticket holder
I can’t afford football and baseball and I will always keep baseball over football

Of course not. The point is that the poster I was responding to made the claim that those who can’t afford them were better fans than those who can.

Which is a ridiculous statement.

This is such bullshite.
Do you even go to LSU games? Most of the people there would be considered middle class - middle upper class normal people who attended LSU or another in state school or has a good job in oilfield/ or the plants. That is the LSU fanbase. The former druggy who knocked his gf up at 19 and his struggling doesn't really care about LSU sports

Not an SEC game but 2 weeks ago there were some decent tickets in Vegas for the USC game. Almost pulled the trigger.

The prices the LSUAD charges for tickets are not that out-of-line, IMO. Market demand is high so StubHub prices are very high. I paid $1900 for 2 season tickets in section 212.

The percentage of our income we spend on LSU football season tickets is less in 2024 than it was when we first bought them in 1981. People are spending tons of money on vacations, second homes/camps, expensive cars/trucks, and all kinds of entertainment.

It is amusing that so many complain about how LSU sells ads all over the stadia/arenas AS they also complaining about ticket costs. If LSUAD did not take in so much from advertising, our ticket prices would be much higher.
