Do tickets normally get cheaper as this one gets closer or should a buddy and I pull the trigger today/tomorrow? Also what are the must do's for the trip? First trip to Tuscaloosa. No student tickets were available for this one.

Dreamland barbecue at the top of the list. Then Bear Bryant museum in Tuscaloosa.

Don’t put your head on a table in a Krystal Burger.

Tickets on the ticket exchange for face. I’d jump on those now.

I don’t like traveling without tickets…I would go ahead and buy some.

Suprisingly, I found Alabama fans to be the friendliest of all fanbases I have ever been around with the exception of Miss St, so don’t be acting like an arse and you will have a great time.

I didn’t find anything exceptional to do besides the game, as Tuscaloosa is a very small town. The statues of their coaches was very cool.

Auburn was a great time and some good people. Haven’t been wowed by the kindness in aggieland, which is what they pride themselves on.
Good to hear.

They are a good fanbase. I have seen several people setting up tailgates at the Baseball stadium and at Central High School

I’ve made the trip 6 or 7 times and I’d suggest you carry through with plans Get tickets now on TD in the LSU Section (and I’m not just saying this bc I have two listed currently). My first trip in college some of my buddies couldn’t pay the price of admission because they actually went up as the week progressed.

LSU has 2500 tickets in two sections in the corner of the lower bowl that include students, family and high TAF donors; these are rarely on the secondary market unless you know someone. Remaining LSU tickets are the top 5-6 rows of the North and South end zone terraces, but it’s still a good time up there.

On game day we usually park west of campus on University and walk it up to the bars and restaurants right there before campus. As we’ve gotten older we just park at one of the bars there and drink our share or hop around that strip. Buffalo Phil’s is a good place to snag a spot and drink; Gallette’s is steps from campus and a younger crowd. If you plan to tailgate on campus, pour anything you’re drinking into a cup.

As others have mentioned, Bama fans are pleasant to be around if you aren’t being an arse - we always make friends and get offered food and drinks.

If you don’t have sleeping arrangements sorted out you may have trouble finding anything other than an overpriced roach motel. Many people stay in Birmingham and come down for the day. There’s also a game day shuttle from there but I’ve never done it.

Good luck, have fun and Geaux Tigers

I'd buy tickets from here preferably in the LSU section. Their fans are the same as ours, solely dependent on who you're around and when as far as their kindness. We were offered an extra ticket in 2019 walking in by a Bama fan one minute and 20 minutes we were told "There's a lot of game left river rats" when we scored opening possession. All about who you're around. Then some guy in overalls got in the GF's face asking "how many rings y'all have???" as she Burrow waved to their fans.

Birgminham is the best place to stay from our research. We had some luck with AirBnbs around Hoover in the past, but Birgmingham seems like the best bet this short notice. There's tons of bars and restaurants that you can hit the Friday before or after the game in Bham as well. They seem to be known for a handful of craft breweries in dowtown Birmingham.
As far as around T-Town I'd do Gameday, Dreamland, and there's that Breakfast spot Bear Bryant used to hit up daily you can hit up. That's about it for the most part. When we win make sure to drape a jersey over Saban's statue for a few pics with it

Buy tickets ahead of time as others have stated.

Breakfast @ rammer jammer or wayfarer, there’s a Waffle House on the strip now also.

Gallettes, Houndstooth (alumni age crowd) Rounders (Vegas club vibe) for bars on the strip. Apparently covers can get be very high on game day. Somebody told me $100 for gallettes wristband.

Downtown Bars - Innisfree, Moes, or the Booth (Innisfree and Moes have solid bar food)

Pay to park at a house or lot near campus/stadium area.

All I got, cheers and enjoy the trip

Park at Central High like other have said. Easy to get in and out there. Real Bama fans are good folks, not like the sidewalk wanna be's around here that run their mouth. Been up there 3 times and have never had a bad experience.

Thanks for all the advice guys. We managed to get some tickets in the LSU section from some family friends who are LSU fans. Staying with a buddy who goes to Bama. Look forward to heading there. Are all of the bars ridiculous covers?? That is what I have been hearing. Not sure if it is like Fred's where you buy a band early in the day cheaper.

They are very nice if they win - will offer to buy you drinks. If they lose, you may wish you were armed leaving the stadium.

Going for the first time as well. Now that the kids are almost done playing football, we’ve decided to try and make it to all the sec stadiums to watch the Tigers play.

We’ll be in a box since it’s on invitation from a vendor who knows we’re Tiger fans. Went to the Auburn game last year and it was nice. Seemed much more family friendly.

I’ve been numerous times before the game and have never paid a cover. I’ve also never been back after the game, but I think it’s like Fred’s where you can get your wristband for free before the game and use it after.
