Moffett may hit 100 in the spring

Few observations from reading through (correct me if I'm wrong, those who were there). I'll keep it all positive, since it's so early.
Skenes is as advertised on the bump. Bona fide 1a or 1b or 1c. No matter where you slot him in, he's ace material.
Moffet has a big, big arm. May play into the back end conversation.
Team is really deep, as we thought it would be.
Kling and Neal are going to play alot, and play well.
Tanks is serviceable, at worst, at 3B. We shouldn't be overly concerned if our best lineup has him at 3B.
Merrifield wants it.

I'm really intrigued to see all of these arms. It really is a completely transformed pitching staff.
I'm much less intrigued by the hitting. We're going to hit. I'll be watching a few positional battles and rotations, but the lineup and positional rotation is pretty much locked in.

Can't wait to watch his development.

As far as Neal, I need to see more out of his defense. Milazzo’s polish with these guys throwing 97+ and nasty sliders is going to be necessary.

The pitching talent on hand is exciting enough. Add in Wes Johnson, and I’m down right giddy.

Stevenson is a dude, and should be way more mature this year. But, agree, Crews and Pearson are locks with Kling and Stevie probably a platoon against R/L unless Kling separates. What happens there and at 3B may also determine where Tre plays. So many options if something isn't working.
Neal will be fine on defense, and is going to hit and hit and hit. Another possible platoon against R/L and who each starting pitcher prefers. Milazzo will be your later inning catcher, at worst. We have some dudes on the mound now that absolutely deserve to say, "I want so and so to catch me."

I think white is a lock at 3B too. He looked good there today. Decent movement. Accurate throws.

We haven’t talked about Dugas at 2B either. He looked pretty smooth.

Did Dugas look lean?
How's Kling's build? I envision him as being a skinnier version of Jordan Beck, but maybe the frame to get there with nutrition and weight room.
Who's a comp for Nippolt's build?
And, I'm not surprised that White can play there. He's athletic. I just worry about his bend/looseness to be more than serviceable. I picture him alot like Berry over there.

Good to hear. He’s a better athlete than people assume. Not terribly surprised he’s looking capable there.

quote:He looks small compared to the other guys out there honestly. There are some big kids we brought in. Neal looks downright tiny.

Where they tracking spin rates on the jumbo screen? Curious how Grant Taylor’s slider looked tonight for those in attendance.
