Can you guys stop looking for reasons to feel good about BK's underachieving season?

Can you name a coach that is hireable that is doing a better job in the same level of competition over the past 3 years? I bet you can’t.

If you even attempt to say Kiffin you will be completely ignored as I specifically said “same level of competition” and it’s been well documented that Ole Miss has played one of the easiest schedules over all in the last decade in the SEC and he’s right on par record wise with BK.

Kiffin is no better than BK. Fact!

I'd take BK, which makes it even more frustrating that we lost to USC.

The two names that most would throw out there are Josh Heupel and Dan Lanning, but neither are "hireable."

Heupel and Kelly are about the same through 3 years. This year, Tennessee just had some conference schedule luck, with getting UGA, Kentucky, and MS State and LSU getting Ole Miss, South Carolina, and A&M.

Heupel wasn't a potential option at the time Kelly was hired, but I guess Lanning technically could have been an option, though I never thought for a second LSU would consider hiring a coordinator at the time.

He didn't win a Natty until his 9th year at Michigan. Had a lot of trial and error before with mixed success before he finally made the playoff his 7th year and was able to string together 3 really great seasons.

They don’t count
Yeah they count. Do they not get tacked on to the season record? National Championship game counts win or lose. Its still on the season record. Idgaf if some paid player thinks they count or not. 9-4 sounds and looks better than 8-5 . It also helps with final rankings.

Kelly. The great irony is we did figure out how to lose to them.

It is just the frustration of what couldve been the last two years, wasting an offense in 23 that was good enough to make the playoff but having a defense that was incompetent was hard to digest. Then the lack of being able to close out games against USC and UF, not to mention the meltdown against Aggie made this team frustrating as all hell. I think he did his best coaching against Vandy and OU, yes not great teams, but I have seen teams fall apart after beatings like we took against Bama.

What's the difference? At least we could fire Riley. Like ever.

I am as big of a Jaray homer as anyone. One of my favorite tigers and have a few personal connections to the young man. I was in the stands during the catch and prevented some of my group from leaving the game early when things looked bleak.

But my brother, those are two fully extended hands. To pretend like just it didn't happen at all is unserious.

With the benefit of hindsight: who would you rather have leading the program going into 2025? Kelly or Riley?

Kelly
