Three weekends into SEC baseball play, what would you do differently?

1. Fire PM. - Kidding but not really kidding. I think it's time for a change and we need a younger more energetic coach that can motivate young people.
2. Again, Arnold needs to be in the line up. We have been awful at the plate, you can't win if you don't score runs. Arnold is one of the better bats on the team. Put him in the damn line up.
3. Safford is not an SEC caliber player and has no business starting an entire SEC weekend. Until Gio is healthy Drost and Sanford are your options in CF. The only thing you could do differently is slide Crews to CF to open up a spot to put Beloso in the outfield and DH Travinski.
4. Move Hellmers to the Sunday slot, I think he has the poise to fill the open weekend rotation spot.
5. Stick to the pitchers you know have produced this year.
6. Cut down on strikeouts, we need to have a better 2 strike approach. We put zero pressure on opposing teams, way too much swing and miss.

Close AB down so we don't have to witness these abortions in person.

1. Isn’t going to happen mid-season
2. Arnold needs to be in the line up 100%
3. I doubt he starts this weekend, that being said he probably starts this weekend
4. Agree
5. Easier said than done with inconsistency coming out of bullpen
6. LSU hasn’t been able to fix their batting issues for years, doubt they start now

Things I would have done differently in pre-conference...some I need to laugh at but most are serious.
- Hoped DiGiacomo wouldn't have gotten hurt.
- Exercised Beloso's demons.
- Not started Bianco for two weeks at SS while others could have gotten reps.
-See above...Cranford was stuck into 2B the first conference game with 2 at bats the entire year.
-Play Arnold
-Play Travinski
-Play Drost
-Try and win games with the score tied 0-0

Whoever thought this once proud program would be playing for "pride" 3 weekends into SEC play?

Yeah let’s start a cf who has trouble tracking the ball and bat him 2 in the lineup after not seeing the field during non conf play

Pretty much agree with everything except for #1. Not saying he shouldn’t be encouraged to retire at the end of the year, but I don’t think that firing him mid year would really help anything

Unfortunately much of the root problem is not something you can fix in the short term.
I'd start in the hitting cages. Far too many strikeouts and weak pop ups. Kids are off balance and don't seem to have a plan at the plate. Safford is not an SEC talent.

BS there is still plenty to play for this season other than pride. Get that football mentality out of a baseball thread. They should be playing to make the SEC tourney then the NCAA tourney then while there they are 1 of 64 teams with a shot and you play to win until you can’t anymore.

Fire Mainieri today
Nothing will be ok until he is fired.

Play the lineup that gives you the best chance to score runs. If we lose games because of defense at this point so be it. We have 9 guys who we can play at one time who can hit.

Nothing will change mid-season with an interim head coach either

That’s being generous considering what we’ve seen so far.

These suggestions would undoubtedly get us a little more offense and cost us some runs on defense. CPM made the decision - correct, imo - that it would cost us more than it would give us, at least against the excellent starters we've faced.
He's right, Travinshi, Arnold, Stafford would all have ben dominated by Leiter, Rocker, and the Mississippi State staff. We would have had five hits instead of four...maybe.
