2011:
14 yards per catch with 4 TDs (2nd on the team)
7 rushes for 55 yards

7 yards per carry in 2010
6 yards per carry in 2009

I think he may well have done well on the other side of the ball.

He did well on the offensive side of the ball when given a chance.

Who cares?? He cant catch worth a crap anyway

this. and he goes down like a sack of potatoes if you breathe hard on him, or else he would be the dual threat QB for next year.
remember his 6 carries? Remember when he jumped into the Aubie line and was grabbed out of the air and slammed down? That was his last carry under center.

I will always remember RS10. Fails to get to ground, trying to make a long one out of a tough catch at his feet. ODBjr demonstrates how to do that over and over, correctly.

Good bye RS10. Thank you for your contributions. Enjoy adult life. Good bye now. Peace. Out. O

We'll be FINE at WR, as long as Jarvis and OBJ stay healthy. Those are two NFL WRs.

He's no Percy Harvin but if the coach, would have strengthened him to use him in that sort of fashion.

Shep's coming back!!

Don't think he hired an agent. Testing the waters and making Les realize that he needs him. Probably trying to get a committment from les to use him in the wild cat and get him the ball. You know Les is going to go all out to keep him here.

I'd like to see RS stay, but I don't think it will be detrimental if he goes. I do think it's better for him to stay, though.

All comes back to QB play. ODBj and Landry will be standout receivers with even a decent QB. We'll be fine.

I would love to finally see Shepard with a decent QB to throw to him. I hope he stays.

Can OBJ? He dropped as many as Shep.

OBJ had 3x as many catches...

I love his leadership. Hope he changes his mind.

I question his leadership if this is how he responds to adversity. He obviously has a chance to be the #1 receiver next season but instead of focusing on that he decided to complain about his touches this season.

Not worried in the least - we have quite a bit of depth at the moment who have proven they are the big time.

I think he's making a mistake too. But maybe he noticed that he's a John Chiles clone. John Chiles was also a highly rated Texas QB who switched to WR once he arrived on campus (UT). Chiles was from the 2007 signing class. Both were 6'1" and about 180 out of high school with blazing speed. Neither did shite during their collegiate careers.

Chiles was unproductive after playing behind a heralded and much more productive WR Jordan Shipley. It was believed that when Shipley left, Chiles would have a chance to shine even though Colt McCoy was leaving. UT merely needed to adjust to a new QB and they had some great candidates.

But the QB situation was a bust during Chiles' SR year, despite the great promise and he finished 5th in receptions. I don't think Chiles lost anything in terms of his value as an NFL prospect by coming back for his senior year - he only risked injury.

Shep has seen enough to assess his competition for playing time. He's a smart guy. Either choice is a calculated risk.

If staying at LSU meant he wasn't going to have a chance at being on an NFL roster until the 2013 season, he might as well play next year for pay - even if it ends up being in Canada or in Arena Football. He doesn't need to be drafted by an NFL team in order to be on an NFL roster during the 2013 season.

Heck, maybe he knows of a Canadian or Arena Team that might give him a shot at QB?

He does. He was hitting the deck in the Kentucky game before the defender actually got to him. You hit him a few good times and he's toast. He'll go into his "duck as you throw" routine. TBS, I still wish he haden't gotten screwed by his "coach." JJ is the worst QB since Melvin Hill.

So he can't be unhappy after having only 18 balls tossed his way all season for an average of 1.29 per game when he caught 78% of them and scored on 30% of those catches? And then top it off with getting only 3 snaps in the NCG? I'd be pissed too, because it wasn't like what we were doing was working.

I like Shep, I like how he has represented the University, I like how he is always been positive, and I would love to see him in P&G next year, and that we try and take full advantage of his skill set if he is. If he goes to the draft, I hope he gets drafted and does well - I think it may be a bit premature for him but I'm not an NFL scout.

What I don't get is the jilted-lover syndrome some fans have where they are basically saying "frick him if he leaves". That's pitiful and I feel sorry that someone who has never done anything but not live up to inflated expectations has to deal with that type of negativity directory towards him.

Sounds like delusion on your part

Did you forget that RR is gone or something?

So the best way to remedy that is to try to go to the NFL, where he may never even take a snap? How about stay for your senior year, beat out Beckham and Landry, become the #1 receiver and then he'll get his touches.

Big big shep fan. This kid loves Lsu and I will never forget seeing him run in the open field. He is underutilized but it's a difficult transition to Wr . He needs another year he is amazing on the speed sweep. He also could be a monster in the slot with a qb who can throw. Jefferson is the problem not shep kid is all class.
