Well, since he already did, that should be enough to change your mind.

Can Bianco play SS? Would he be any worse?

Bianco is much better defensively, probably hit about 250. Pretty good trade.

I don’t make excuses for Thompson or really any of the players we have starting in the infield right now. He’s not the only player making errors. But….what other player would you put out at that spot and expect a better overall performance. Defense and offense? As frustrating as it is right now, he’s our best option. The middle infield and really the corners as well are not performing up to its ability. Morgan isn’t the same player either with the injury. There is a ton of upside, and maybe he doesn’t get any better but, he has superior athletic ability, and we are winning more than we lose.

well, he actually did play high school baseball.
at a high enough level to be a top somewhere around top 50 prospects.

I’ve said this all season, and I’m finally starting to disagree. I’d start Cranford or Bianco there and see how it goes. Thompson is not only terrible, but terrible at the worst possible times. He needs to sit out and reset

Why?

I think it’s a pretty asinine opinion.

Sounds like something some dumbass LSU fan would say out of frustration, but I know nothing about baseball.

Its so frustrating. Perfect double play ball and we get no one

Not defending Thompsons play overall, but on that particular play, the ball seemed to take a funky hop right at the end. When I looked at the slo-mo replay, it looked like his glove was where it needed to be the way the ball was rolling, then the hop. Maybe he should have been quick enough to adjust and make the play anyway? Don't know, just telling what I saw....

He’s struggling, but Jordan Thompson would be the best shortstop, centerfielder, pitcher, and hitter, on all but maybe 20 high school teams in the country.
