I hate to say it, but USC has looked pretty impressive. OU came alive too. But I know what you mean. I just hate that LSU had to miss the game. There's a lot to gain in that second game. Hope we are ready for Auburn when the time comes.

Yes, Arkansas is in bad shape. I think that Ark might be bringing up the rear in the SEC this year. And I hope that NBC loses millions on Notre Dame this year.

Yes sir, I'm with ya.

calling emmanuel moody....

not sure why everyone in this thread is so impressed with florida. yeah, they looked good when miami was worn out in the 4th. up until then, florida's offense looked pedestrian. no one is ever going to confuse tebow's passing with dan fouts. if it weren't for the ineptitude of miami's offense, florida's defense would have looked much worse. having said that, i fully expect florida to improve significantly over the next few weeks.

ms state at la tech? texas a&m at new mexico? w. va at e. car? what gives?

notre dame. wow. they have reached a new level of suck.

auburn's offense, not so good.

ole miss is going to better, but still middle of the pack at best. i don't think nutt will be able to reproduce the same results as he did at ark.

ark will get better.

tenn might lose the early non-con game, but they did help out the sec in the bowl season, which is when it really counts. they're still somewhat difficult to figure out. are they in decline or is this just an aberration in fulmer's tenure?

i doubt very seriously that bama will end the season ranked in the top 15.

Awesome rant. Anyway here's my stuff. ND doesn't look any better and you can hear it. Booing was going on in the first half against SDSU. UF isn't as unstoppable as we've been led to believe. Teams are starting to figure out how to get to Tebow. Miami isn't far off from being a serious contender say maybe next year. The talent is coming in for sure. ECU should rightfully be No. 14; dismantled WV. Really confused how Bama only beat Tulane by 14. Maybe a letdown? Still think the Tide are for real.

Arkansas and Texas A&M are 2 of the worst teams in the country.
I'm gonna say the jury is still out on Texas A&M. Why?

Well, their single loss is to Arkansas State. Who? Yea, the Sun Belt's ASU.

However, two days ago, ASU laid down 83 friggin' points on Texas Southern. I know TSU is weak, but still... you have to have your shite together to score 83 points.

ASU managed 670 yards too. And of that 83 points, 9 were offensive TDs. And they only allowed TSU to score 10 points. The halftime score was 52-3.

And for New Mexico, I watched the game on Vs. A&M had a semi-comfortable lead most of the game, and UNM came back to within six points with 34 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter.

A&M's leads were: 7, 14, 7, 14, 11, 18, 12, 6

All that being said, the Big XII is not a great place for a "rebuilding team" in 2008. BUT, they may be better than their current (and final) record seems to indicate.

I think ECU would kill Wake. VaTech, BC, Clem, GaTech, UM, FlaSt, Mary (losing to MTS???).......all led by Wake? And one of them is going to a BCS Bowl. I know things can change between now and the end of the season, but the ACC is looking VERY horrible right now.

Wake might be the best team in the ACC this year, but I would not count out Miami and VT just yet. VT's loss to ECU is looking a lot less disastrous now, and Miami hung in there with Florida for most of the game. The only ACC team that was supposed to be good that really sucks is Clemson.

They had a tape on Tebow's workout regimen on ESPN this weekend that they must've played 9 or 10 times. They tried to give you the impression that Tim Tebow could single handedly rip the Empire State building from its foundations and hurl it into the Atlantic Ocean.

Just the same, I think that short of an amputated leg, Tebow will be healthy and playing for the Gators. No doubt he's a warrior. Beating UF in The Sewer will tough this year.

I'm telling you....watch out for Penn St. They could end up in the National Championship with a win over OSU. They look good enough to beat everyone else in the Big 10.

Whipping Virginia doesn't look as impressive now after Richmond gave them all they wanted.

OU came alive too

They gave up a lot of points, and it was only 28-20 in the third quarter.

Yeah, it would have helped to have another warmup game before Auburn. At least there's one benefit in that it gives Auburn less game film to watch on us.

Ohio State is going to get exposed against USC...again. Carrol is going to spread the field, we're going to play soft zone, Todd Boeckmann is going to play like a scared little girl.

1) only major conference worse than the ACC is the Big East - and the ACC has 3 wins, 7 losses against 1a opponents so far I believe. Big east has an absolute collapse of quality at the top to deal with all of a sudden
2) ECU deserves a lot of credit
3) Notre Dame looks horrible and if I were Charlie Weiss I would be leery of being deported
4) Pitt with Wandy will continue to get over-estimated and win one game a year they shouldn't...
5) Auburn's defense looks brutal and their offense looks brutal... in different ways
6) OSU looks ready to be taken to the woodshed by USC
7) OU is great, demolished a Cincy team that was good last year
8) Missouri has a lights out offense so far, be interesting to see if they screw it up somehow
9) Florida is strangely fragile seeming on offense somehow but they are improved on defense IMO

Missouri will find a way to screw up at least 1 game. The Gaytors are screwed if Tebow gets hurt.

Yes they did. The Wake - Ole Miss game was a good game to watch, and Ole Miss nearly pulled it out on the late TD. Their QB looked pretty decent, they have some big 'ol boys up front, and they are well coached. Don't take Ole Miss lightly, they may surprise some folks.

The funny thing is that they did the same sort of thing about John David Booty at the beginning of last season and made an overly huge deal out of his "core" workouts.
