I’m honestly not sure how today’s game performance was even possible with this organization. How do we have a coaching staff with the proven coaches on both sides of the ball put such a pathetically unprepared group of very good athletes on that field today?

What concerns me the most Is this staff did not see how bad this product was before today. This was an absolute shite show on both sides of the ball, and they apparently had no idea this was coming! And who the hell thought Brennan was ready to lead any team, much less the defending national champs?! This poor kid had the deer in the headlights look all day, and played like he’d never played QB at any level before!

The play calling on defense was an absolute farce! Why did coach want this guy back so bad, and especially why in hell would he offer him 10 TIMES HIS SALARY at Youngstown St?! Constantly dropping back and letting Costello pick us apart like a surgeon, while somehow refusing to pressure him on literally every play was unfathomable!

With the exception of special teams, this was the worst prepared offense and defense combination I’ve ever seen an LSU program send onto the field in a very long time. Again, it’s scary to think what our coaching staff had in mind in believing this team was ready!????

Our coaches are proven to be shitty. No other program in the country was looking to hire any one of the Three Stooges. And somehow O got them all

he tried to pressure him almost every snap.

but he left true freshmen on islands where they were getting beat, and refused to adjust to a zone to help them out

Just further proves my position from 2016.. Coach O needs two elite coordinators for this scheme to work. When Coach O has two elite coordinators, it works beautifully. And let's call it for what it was last year, it was Joe Brady's offense. This season, neither coordinator is elite and it's exposing Coach O..

I agree with most of your post, but Pelini brought a lot of pressure. The problem is a lot of our fans thought that pressure = success. Which we saw today isn’t true. I miss Aranda

The few pressure plays he ran we’re the only plays that slowed Costello. I’ve watched and studied the Leach offenses over the years, and if you can’t get heavy pressure consistenty, and especially on 3rd downs, you have no chance. None!

The few? Did we watch the same game? Every time he brought pressure Leach ran a WR across the middle WIDE open. And it happened A LOT.

No. Those couple came from pics on the outside and not covering with no middle drop or safety. Again basics not being taught or executed. Result: ugly loss to FAR LESS TALENTED team.

Bo is a proven commodity but his defenses have had their WTF games (2005 ASU and 2007 Arky).

Ensminger is who he is. A decent play caller but not the guy you want designing the game plan. Lineman is a failed NFL guy that has potential, but reaching college kids is a different beast than pro athletes.

I is a failed coach with two years with Burrow and guys that Miles hires or a one year wonder in a Brady that looks better than he actually is. It is a fact that he will struggle many years looking for another Brady to put LSU over the top. He brings nothing from a coaching strategy standpoint to the table like a Saban, Meyer, Mullen, Smart or Leach do and not even the luck to Lee guys like Venebales and then Morris follows by Scott and Elliot as OCs for more than 1 year. I will not command that type of longevity from top coordinators, which has what makes Dabo so successful over the last 5-6 years.

That said, unfortunately enough LSU fans will use last year to count for more meaning than building a dynasty. They will settle for up and down years with significant rebuilds, mediocre years and then one or two contending years because they bought into O. This is why they will always be second fiddle to other teams as elite programs with LSU as a very good one.

Most of the big plays came when Bo called three man rushes and those young kids got burned at the jump. That was at least two of their 3rd down TDs that I recall (First and last one).

I think a lot of people are acting like he went blitz crazy but that isn’t really true. The DBs just got their lunch handed to them at the line and didn’t jam worth a damn. It wasn’t like double moves are what beat them. They just jumped out of position (especially Evans) multiple times and let the guy go right by them.

definitely sucks because SL, BP aren't known for their recruitment and also looks like the coaching game has passed them by. Can never understand how SE relates so well to recruits when is coaching and development has been trash

need some young blood, ones who can relate to the youth and bring energy/passion

Cordale Flott and Jay Ward are not freshmen. The freshman, Ricks actually looked good.

First off, Texas went up and down the field on Aranda last year. Vandy scored what 38. Ole miss had like 500 yards. When you blitz and don't get home it is going to be trouble and we had plenty of that yesterday.

We were beat for touchdowns twice when Bo dropped 7 into coverage. That ain’t Bo. Frankly, 26 got picked on repeatedly. Leach hit that every time he saw him in the game. Them he hit 5. Then he hit 1 until he made the pick. The best DC in the world can’t hid DBs who can’t cover. Watch 26 on reply. He learned real fast that he ain’t covering guys from Mcneese any more. The offense lost this game. D played a decent first half, but was on the field 20 of the 30 minutes. It takes a toll at some point.

Are we seriously doing this forgetting that we won a national championship last year by perhaps the greatest season ever? Some of you are just ridiculous

We need to spend more time on tackling and technique instead of working on our kneeling technique! ANYONE that watched that game yesterday and didn't see the difference between the two coaching staffs, needs to take off the purple and gold colored glasses. We never work on tackling and it shows. One of the State players mentioned yesterday that most of their practices are "live," with guess what????......TACKLING!!!!!

Then how did Washington hold Wazzu below 20 points the past 7 years dropping 8 in coverage every play?
