Remember when we got beat by Texas then a few weeks later swept by Auburn. We were about on the same level of melt as this board is now.

That in no degree is anywhere near the struggles we have had this year. Those are SEC teams and UT was very good last year.

Every year that Jay has been here we’ve both hit and pitched better in May and June than we did in February and March. Let the man work, he’ll get them right.

While Yorke has glaring deficiencies in his swing and approach at the plate, he hasn't been bad defensively in terms of playing first, his lack of quickness has let some balls get through the gap that a good fielding 1b gets too but he hasn't been bad. This team including Milam have put a absolute ton of balls in the dirt throwing guys out and he's handled those well. Lsu doesn't have anyone better on this team. If he can figure out how to hit the off speed stuff he can be productive.

I think a lot of them are. Sheerin, Rizzy, and Plog all have done well. I'm not all in on Plog yet but he's performed well. Garcia looked as good as any pitcher we have tonight and dangerous from the left side. I think everyone agrees Guidry is solid. That's 3-4 good stoppers right there (pre-SEC).

Right but you probably need to consider the level of competition.

Cowan was awesome most of last year and hasn't changed, but he does better against SEC teams and struggles with mid-majors...

Where are you getting this from? He gave up 2 total ER against non SEC teams last year.

I'm taking some flyers with the rest but the potential is very high with them.

I mean I get what you are saying, but you could say this about a ton of pitchers around the SEC.

At this point in time, LSU has the worst staff ERA in the SEC. They can improve but here’s really no way to spin that into a positive.
