If they are properly motivated..Jones has to get some better talent over the summer but this game will give the boys some belief going into next season.

Current season just needs to be flushed and forgotten about quickly.

Jones ain't getting anymore talent. He's garbage. No one will want to play for him. Also he's bad at actual scheme.

Congrats. He can get his guys fired up for Kentucky. And then lose.

Did anyone question his ability to motivate? He learned from Dale. He can't coach though.

What does he even say after games when you keep losing.

Well we played well tonight but Kentucky isn't very good defensively either right now. I mean we got lots of easy layups and wide open 3's.

Forgettable season.

A highly functioning athletic department under solid leadership would evaluate direction, develop a plan for the future and then execute.
I have no such expectation the LSU program under current leadership can develop and execute upon a plan.

Didn't watch the game but saw the final score, eh?

FWIW, we were down by 20+ most of the game. They made a run in the final 2-3 minutes and got it down to 6 with 8 seconds left, but the game was never competitive.

They did hold Kentucky under 100 tonight and made a decent run late in the game. The offense actually looked like an offense at times with good movement and shooting. In reality, the game was never competitive even with Kentucky being in a small slump the past few games. That being said, the last run by LSU looked pretty positive and could give the guy something to build on. Just way too little and far too late.

We've already seen what Jones can (rather, can't do with great talent). A team with a winning record and no NCAAT appearance is no different than a team with a horrorible record. Both those seasons end the same way

They haven't proved anything yet. They still lost, and have players and a coach who don't see anything abhorrent about losing.

The pattern this season (and over Jones' career) is to play a decent game and then follow it with 2-3 games that look as if the team never even played a pickup game before. Look for the Tigers to lose Saturday night by about 30.

We're still 1-10 in the SEC and have been blown out by 20+ this season far more times than playing competitively against good teams. And good god at trying to find a moral victory. The final score is not indicative of the game. LSU was down 15-20 points, at times more, the majority of the second half

You must not have watched the game. We were down 20+ the entire game. We shot over 60% in the second half and still didn't have any shot at winning the game. Basketball takes offense and defense. LSU basketball has not a clue what defense is. They couldn't defend an 8th grade blind basketball team. Stop with the positive, its okay, threads. The basketball team lacks, basketball IQ, effort (at times), talent, a competent coach who can make in-game adjustments, and every other important skill set it takes to be a good basketball team.

Same story with Kentucky every year.
He needs to be able to motivate them for every game
