Still not sure if they can put together a great season, but it’s not hard for me to hope the best for them. Burrow is a competitor, and the way he handles himself and how his current and former teammates talk about him, you can’t help but like him.

Devin White is one of the most likeable Tigers ever. Just impossible not to enjoy that guy.

How can you not love a DB named Greedy?

Nick Brossette’s story is just awesome! His loyalty, and the way he’s fought through his brother’s death... It’s just special.

And then you’ve got Aranda, the quiet genius, and Ensminger, the reluctant homegrown OC. And Coach O - He’s not really the first choice, but it would be such a good story to see him succeed.

Maybe I’m a sentimental sucker, but I really want this team to do well, even more than I typically do. Everybody has counted them out, and they just seem like good dudes who are ready to play for each other and prove some people wrong. I’m hopeful for the best, and not just for me as a surface level fan, but for them as individuals and teammates.

Jeaux and Greedy:

these two positions should not like each other.

A couple players tweeted displeasure about a lack of playing time in Game 1. That was somewhat disappointing after a significant win.
Hopefully those guys come around and buy in to the “One Team, One Heartbeat” mantra because they are likely to be counted on throughout this season.

That’s far from the truth.

If you ever played ball you would know the positions don’t mean anything, except during practice.

Agreed OP. Well said. I think we needed to be everyone's underdog. We've been there for good reason. Finally starting to feel like we have the pieces to back it up. Taking it game by game but enjoying every minute of this season with this team so far.

None of us have an accurate crytal ball, so no comment on the future.

But I do want to note that a team can feed off of leaders such as Burrow and White just as much as a poor/failed leader can suck the wind out of any momentum.

The best thing about personalities combined with talent like Burrow and White is that they create other leaders. Other players don't JUST want to follow them, they want to be them.

And I'll say, without a doubt whatsoever in my mind, that a team can not be "great" without that. It doesn't necessarily make them great, but you'll never get beyond good without it.

Besides Shelvin, who were the others?

Nick is an every down back. When will people finally buy in? His blocking is really good. He’s got vision, he hit the weight room and got up to 220lbs, a jump cut and burst that makes him a HR threat every time he gets the rock.

The leadership on this team is top notch and I think it makes a big difference.

If Traore & Lewis get the Continuity and stop missing assignments this Oline can be good enough. Ensminger is legit and with a guy like Burrow I think they can score a lot of points even against some of these west defenses

Well, everyone thought Travez Moore’s tweet was about him wanting to transfer...

He clarified later and said he was just moving to another apartment.

Excellent post.

I think Joe Burrow will get better every game he plays.

Clean up dropped passes on offense and defense.

Improve pass protection.

Sky’s the limit.

I was convinced this year's LSU team would be fun to watch. So far they haven't disappointed me. Don't expect they ever will.

it seems as if for the first time in a while we have players playing for LSU and not just for their draft stock. I have a feeling that these kids really love LSU.
