This sure is starting to smell like the 70s all over again
Posted by ShortyRob on 1/8/13 at 12:09 am00
Bama has separated from the pack. Meanwhile, LSU has a coach that will always be "pretty good" but who couldn't hold the jock of the guy in crimson.
We'll continue to be pretty good and that sure beats the fricking 90s but frick, how goddamned annoying!!!
Anyone not acquiesing to the fact that Saban is the best coach in college football is letting their hate for him leaving cloud their judgment. I don't want the guy back, but reality is reality. He aint perfect(no coach is). But the gulf between him and Miles is HUGE.
ETA: And before you start posting about us competing well against Bama, I'm talking about OVERALL coaching for a season. It's not even comparable. Add that to the fact that Saban is clearly a pretty damned good talent evaluator......

Jesus man throwing in the towel are we. Bcs rematch withheld we are 3-3 vs bama. They are not on another level than we are. If we played their schedule we have one loss this year too, maybe none. They once again get a favorable schedule next year. Lsu is equal to bama, the record dictates it. Grow the frick up tiger fans, quit living with an inferiority complex. This isn't the fricking 70's

Denial.
All the talk and actions from Bama's players on the field tonight showed me that Saban has them so far ahead of LSU mentally. From AJ and Jones shoving and yelling to their LB saying he was pissed that they gave up the shutout is just a reflection of the way they've been coached. Meanwhile, our AD gave our coach a raise because it's about "being in the hunt for championships." That's the difference between LSU and Bama right now. The talent is equal, but Bama has a huge mental edge. That doesn't mean LSU can't ever beat them, but it makes it that much tougher.

There's much more parity in the SEC and NCAA than there was in the seventies. Bama can't stockpile 75 players every year and give the walkons swimming scholarships. Yes, they're good. Yes, Saban is good. But it's taken a perfect storm of good football fortune for them to have this run. It won't last forever. Somebody gets hurt, somebody gets complacent in the offseason, somebody pisses hot on a drug test. It can happen, and will happen. Sooner than anybody thinks. This shite is unsustainable and Bama is on borrowed time as it is.

Tell me how 3 wins and 3 losses makes them eons ahead of us? Every year we play them it goes to the wire. Quit bowing to the crimson dictator.
In fact I think sec teams should be judged on conference titles not bcs titles which one is harder to obtain?
They are also set up for more success based on the friendly sec office and their scheduling dept. imagine if we got to play Tennessee this year instead of Florida. We are 11-1 hoisting crystal possibly.

I mean seriously. It's about TRAJECTORY. Are we good enough to match up against em sometimes? Of course. I didn't say we were becoming Kentucky.
But for frick's sake man, the SEASON LONG difference between the two coaches is GLARING.

The irony is this whole issue is correctable. The way Les recruits we can play with Bama. All we need is a top 50 offense. Hire an offensive coordinator comparable to The Chief on defense and let him do his job. Problem solved.

So say lsu comes out and beats bama next year. Then what? We are one defensive stop away, one errant fg by an okst kicker from hoisting 2 more crystal balls. This fan base is pathetic. You want to bow to bama as your daddy, go ahead. I refuse to.
The gap isn't as wide as you make it sound.

4 National Titles>1Title with Saban 's players, also Saban has won 3 of the last 4 titles. Saban is winning championships. Miles can't field a offense in top half of college football.

quote:i wish it was that easy. But miles has to do something to earn that 4 mil paycheck. Think about it, could you go to work everyday making 4 times as much as the highest paid coordinator and not be involved? He has to be from every standpoint there is or he might as well not be here. Which is fine with me. Don't care anymore, the games are horrific to watch.

Lsu is two plays from being the one holding 2 more trophies. Defense holds bama this year, we are demolishing nd in that game maybe. Bama doesn't get the mulligan we win it last year. You make it sound Iike they are invincible. This is a team we have beaten 50% of the time the last 6 years.
And Gtfo with the "winning with Sabans players" shite. Saban won his first title with Shula' s players then. Dumbest fricking thing I've heard yet.

What does that have to do with next year. I'm saying say miles brings in an offensive cord, and or gets the offense straightened out. What then? So we're one victory from being equal with bama? That's a stupid way to go about looking at it. shite we better catch up to uf, we aren't on their level, ATM either. They beat us. We aren't ready to play with those guys anymore.

Oh look another LSU fan bitching about Miles and lauding Saban as the greatest coach on earth. Well tell me this .. if Saban is the best coach out there, what is the solution for LSU? By your logic no matter what moves we make we're still going to have (at the very best) the second best coach in the country.
So again, any proposed solutions to the "problem?"
