fire the coach and ruin our incoming class is definitely the best way to compete next year

I hope like hell I’m wrong but I have a feeling it’s inevitable that our incoming class is going to take some massive hits between now and the end of ESD.

If you’re this soft as a fan, just go. The program isn’t destroyed. Quit being a drama queen.

You recruit your guys to stay 4 years, no not opt out, to not transfer. He has failed. Hen ow has to rely on an AMAZING class because if not, we are absolutely fricked for another 2-3 years

LSU was down to 64-67 guys on roster. After graduation, early departure, transfer, “opt-out” and don’t forget self imposed scholly reduction...it could be a minimum of 4-5 years before having 85 again bc of the hard 25 per year limit That’s also assuming no misses in recruiting and no T-IX reduction.

If CEO survives this year (T-IX), it’s imperative to have quality recruits and recruit draft eligible players to return. Basically, look at the Dabo recruiting model.

Yeah, I know it’s quality over quantity but those numbers are going to be a big problem for the next few years.

Or, do you pull the trigger and let Orgeron go, but knowing that whomever you hire next has to immediately energize the fan base and deliver a great, not good, product immediately. If Orgeron is released without cause, and his buyout has to be paid (along with a slew of other coaches), then the financial hit to the program will be large...just as the hit of a new coach that would have the ability to execute on what needs to be done.

Who is this mythical coach that will be beating down the doors to take a job where they are willing to fire you literally 1 year after winning, not just the national championship, but having what is widely considered the greatest season in college football history? Oh, and they will spend months with a team of lawyers trying to find any and every way they can fire you with cause so they get out of paying you and your newly unemployed staff the millions of dollars they owe you. And you will have to hire and pay your own lawyers to fight this for you.

And oh yeah, those same lawyers and many more, are desperately fighting off the biggest Title IX scandal in university history. And you’ve got to take the job before there’s any resolution to the investigation, so I guest just cross your fingers. Who is this coach? frick it, let’s hire him right now. Because we’re LSU, and we can get whoever we want. We’re constantly having to swat away all the great coaches beating down the LSU doors every time the job opens up. Last 6 LSU coaches and the jobs we hired them from:

Ed Orgeron (Defensive Line coach):
Les Miles (HC of the mighty Oklahoma State Cowboys)
Nick Saban ( Michigan State HC, didn’t he find us instead of the other way around?)
Gerry Dinardo (HC Vanderbilt
Curley Hallman (HC of Southern Mississippi)
Mike Archer (DC at LSU)

LSU will have to adopt the Clemson recruiting model.

Great quality over quantity! Can’t have any misses in recruiting, recruit draft eligible players to stay and work the transfer portal like a boss. Basically the Dabo/Clemson model

At the beginning of the season, I posted that Orgeron should be given a chance based on the myriad of players lost, new coaches, and the effects of COVID.
After the greatest season in history. Wow, way to go out on a limb

Until all the problems get resolved and penalties are all known, nobody good is going to want to enter an unstable job.

Burrow was Busch's idea
quote:

Orgeron gave new safeties coach Bill Busch, a friend of Burrow’s father, Jimmy, who is defensive coordinator at Ohio, much credit for helping landing Joe. “He was the lead recruiter on this,” Orgeron said. “Did a tremendous job. Bill knew Jimmy (Burrow).

Brady was someone other than O's idea as well.

O told a guy who is friends with the kids father to recruit JB...that is smart
