Really bringing something to the table here Lester.
Ensminger is a Studrawa level OC.
Change my mind.

I am Saying our OL in 2012 didn’t look ornplay as well as they did in 2013,
And you’re giving Turner the gift of hindsight. He was not a pro bowler in 2012.
Turner is great but he was also a RE Freshmen in 2012. The next year he was much better but he still wasn’t a 1st rounder.
He just kept improving, plusnhe was like 19 in 2012.

2008 OL was the worst I've seen. played Washington in game 1 of the year and squeeked by on stellar defensive play.

We returned 3 starters in 2012. 1 got hurt. 1 quit the team Halfway through the season. We then lost our starting RG to concussions.
And we were still smart enough to fire our OC.
Sometimes it’s maybe both a bad OL and a Bad OC.
I agree and that's a logical assessment to go along with a drop in RB talent, WR inexperience and a 1st year QB that got here this summer.
An elite OC may have been able to get good productivity this season. A very good OC could have made this unit average to above. An average to below OC trying to figure it out as the season progresses gets you what we have.
We will have a great mix of talent and experience in 2019, but I fear their potential won't fully be utilized without big changes in the offensive staff.

He was really really good, you're trying to revise history to suit your argument here.

He was very good BOTH years. IT's not like he took some massive leap in 1 year, he was starting as a RS fr. because he was THAT good.
Look man, I've been watching us like a hawk since maybe the late 90s/early 00's, this year's OL is EASILY the worst I can remember. 2012 even makes this line look really bad.

So are you saying we had this amazing Ol in 2012?
Because we didn’t.
Turner was good in 2013 but he was still only 2nd team ALL-SEC and a late 3rd rounder.
In 2012 he didn’t play like either. Is turner very good? Yes. He’s a beast and makes LSU proud. Did his play in 2012 or even 2013 indicate that he would be that good? NO. It did not.
He was a starting RS Fr because Williford got had to retire because of concussions.
We gave up 33 sacks this year
We gave up 32 in 2012.
We lost our LT for 12 games
Our RT for 7
Our RG for 7
We bitched about not protecting Mett, how Mett was a statue, how ournoffense sucked
We just didn’t give Stud a pass because we knew he was a dud.
Ensminger is a dude.
Because we didn’t.

I would attribute some of that to Mett's lack of mobility.

My big point is that we didn’t blame all the players and say Les needs to go get more talent.
We shitcanned Stud and had one of the best offense LSU has ever had the next year.

Stud was a stop-gap. I'm pinning my hopes on SE being the same. I don't think even the hard core supporters see him as a long term solution.

Honestly, here is my opinion.
O sees E as the having done a good enough job in 2016, and the just need players.
And that’s concerning because what E did in 2016 was run a healthy Guice instead of LF7 with a majorly sprained ankle, and play teams with rushing defenses in the 100s
It also concerns me because we have to get past the point where we think just executing better will beat good defenses. They’re also trying to execute, and if you just try and go head to head with them you’ll have an issue.

The Oline in 2018 was clearly worse than 2012.

It's the Tackles that MOSTLY are below part.

The guards and center aren’t that good either

2013 we moved everyone around and got a new OC and wow everything looked good.
Having A real good QB and a great RB and two excellent WR'S made a big difference when comparing these two different teams... Think about it........

Collins was obviously better than a Brumsfield even as a Sophmore.
Collins was better than Brumfield is now before he left high school. Brumfield is just not good. I still don't know why he was playing over Hines. We were better on the left side of the line when Brumfield was out injured.
