Good thing he can run because from what I have seen of his throwing motion it is more suited for the track team. Maybe he should try shot put.

You can't be a one dimensional QB in SEC football.

Brennan is starting the season assuming he can stay healthy. I do think kelly will mix in another Qb like he did at ND and play the hot hand.

Nuss deserves the right to get better like the rest of the qb’s but he can’t hold jaydens jock at this stage of time.

the fact that you think there is this much of a gap when daniels has not lived up to what he did as a freshman nor has he played a single game in the SEC should demonstrate to everyone here how delusional you are. That or you are a family member. He is going to have to read defenses in this league and win games with accuracy. making it sound like hes levels above the guys here is a stretch.

I’d start Brennan, but I’d also give Nuss a couple of series.

That you have a brain.

Substitute the last 3 games of Burrows first regular season. If that makes you feels better. Myles also had a new system after Burrow left.

Your post holds no water.

That is what this board does man. Latches on to one guy and rides that horse until the end.

Isn't Boutte the one who said Nuss was going to be a special QB for LSU when asked about the QB situation?

Boutte has spoken highly of all the QBs so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s the one who said that.

I like Nuss, and I like Brennan....and look forward to seeing what Howard and others can do as well.

I agree. They are all deserving. I hope they all get to play and lead the team.

Oh look it’s another “that qb can run like they do on madden so he’s the best” thread.

Nuss made some elite throws and his scrambling ability and release are attention grabbers. I'm just not sure he's disciplined enough yet. He passes on open stuff underneath to go over the top into coverage at times, and with a risk taker like him you are going to have to live with some turnovers. I like it that this battle is so close, and regardless of what happens this season, I feel good about Nuss going forward.

Nuss looked more comfortable in the pocket as a freshmen than Myles did as a junior

Scrambling and throwing erratic passes up?

Not knocking him because he was a freshman and Brennan is 30 but still. Nuss was playing schoolyard ball out there.

Agree, all you have to do is put their highlights side by side to see that Brennan was much more comfortable and had better pocket presence than Nuss during the games they played. That’s not to say who should start, I think whoever is playing better now will get the job but going by what’s on tape to date Brennan looked better by a lot. The numbers and tape show that convincingly.

I’m not sure I agree on the pocket presence. Or maybe it would be better to say footwork. That’s the one area Brennan looked shaky to me, certainly in the opener against MSU. Granted, he looked a lot better over the next two games so hopefully it was just jitters in his first start.

As for Nuss, I don’t think he looked uncomfortable. To me it was the opposite - overconfident. It felt like he was trying to prove a point or something when he was out there. I like the confidence, but he needs to be efficient. I don’t doubt his abilities as a passer or as a leader, I just think he needs to settle down and take what the defense gives him. That will come with experience.

Ultimately, I’ll be happy either way (or with Daniels for that matter). I’m confident that this staff is going to put the guy who they think is best suited to win games on the field, without letting fan perceptions or outside pressure cloud their judgement. I didn’t have the same confidence with the previous regime.

NicotineFree2022

Dumb arse, LSU had virtually "NO RUNNING GAME" none!!! Myles had to pass, and he did that well.

Add a very poor OL at the start of the season. Myles had a better completion % in those games. No one is saying Myles is better than Burrow.

Maybe you should take up Pickleball.

Brennan wasn't blameless. He made crucial mistakes against Miss St and wasn't able to punch it in against Mizzou. He bears some responsibility for that.

And based on those three games (again, two of them losses) you think him starting is a W...just cuz?

What a moronic take

Hmm.

Look I think Brennan is a perfectly serviceable QB who could win plenty of games for us, but this notion his stats from those three starts would carry over to games against tougher opponents has always fascinated me.

No way he puts up those numbers against Bama, A&M, Auburn, etc.

We would have been in for a rude awakening when we got to the toughest part of the schedule (again, after we'd already lost twice).

You’re right… RS10 will definitely throw a TD pass this year
