Since mid February, I never missed a game. I’ll be honest, I can’t say that that has been the case with every baseball team we’ve had. But this team was so special, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of them. In January, our daughter had a very serious surgery that has been a really tough recovery. She is finally doing so much better. I want this baseball team to know how much it meant to us and what a great distraction it was from our crazy reality. I don’t know how many hours we put into watching this baseball team, but it was a lot! So to put in that type of time in to see that type of reward has been extremely gratifying. I can’t imagine what it feels like for them! Thanks Coach Jay and Company for one of the funnest rides I’ve been on as a fan. Damn it’s great to be a Tiger

I agree with you. This team was special to watch.

By the way (not to hijack the thread)... Isn't your daughter, Katie? I remember you asking us to pray for her a while back. How's she doing?

Yes! That’s her. Kid is now a kidney disease survivor, cancer survivor, and chronic pancreatitis survivor. So I probably asked for prayers on multiple occasions lol. Been a wild ride as her parent, but she is worth every bit of it. She is about to head to her divisionals swim team meet and she’s going to kick some arse. She’s a beast. Thanks for asking, she really is doing well.

Glad to hear that! Some things like this, transcend sports. Its also great when we can use sports to shed some positive light, and at times, healthy distraction, from the rigors and hardships that life can often bring.

God's blessings on you guys!

And...

Very glad to hear your daughter is recovering well. Prayers for continued healing.

As for this team, it's truly the first time I didn't miss a single game. Whether in person or on TV. I don't know what it was about them, but it seems like more people felt connected to the players. Whether it was the way they played, the amount of air time, or what. But this team was special from the start.

I think this feeling of being connected to the team is going to be the new norm for LSU sports in general. It seems like there's an active push by Woodward and Tate to make the fanbase feel like they're a part of each team. The alignment is fricking solid!

God bless you and your daughter. You are both warriors. Hope she beats everybody at her swim meet, while you cheer like you did for this Natty.

Wow.

I know people from the athletic department lurk here. They need to get in touch with you and bring her to a WBB game as a special guest.

Think I may have missed a midweek or two, and certainly didn’t go through the personal trials y'all did, but in late April/early May my wife lashed out with “baseball again?!”

I explained to her this team had a 2019 football feel, and there was something different about them. She watched every bit of the post season with me, and had our dog in “lucky” LSU collars and bandanas. This team overcame it ALL, and I mean all…they even won her over by the end

Congratulations on your daughter’s recovery and prayers for her going forward.

The season was amazing. Everything about that team was special, especially how the bullpen came alive in the postseason.

It was the most fun three weeks of LSU fandom in my life. It was just awesome. It is like we won it twice, once to get to the finals and then the finals. And legendary, legendary players and plays. Absolutely the best.

You sound like a kick-arse parent. I'm sure Katie is proud to be your daughter.

Keep on keepin' on!

This was honestly some of the most fun I have had watching baseball in a long time. There are just so many good storylines on top of excellent players.

Ty Floyd's 17 strikeout performance against Florida game 1.

Morgan's defensive play in the 8th inning against Wake Forest.

Crews being Crews all year

White being unreal at the plate with Crews on Base. His walkoff HR against Wake

Skenes dominance all year.

The list goes on but just such a fun year.

My favorite team ever, I don't think it is just recentcy bias for all the reasons you mentioned. That was the greatest 10 day of LSU baseball ever.

My fiancé is no sports fan but she watched the post season with me and was riveted to the TV. She bought all kinds of LSU gear and got super nervous for all the games. I think she is a true Tiger fan. Loved it.

I've watched every single tournament for all the title winning teams, and this year's run was by far the best and most impressive.

Did your daughter have to get a kidney transplant? I have Chronic Kidney Disease and will need a transplant. I’m just curious about that whole process. Sorry for not staying on the subject and I’m glad your daughter is thriving.

The crowd chanting for Thompson is something I'll remember for a long, long time. I admit, I was down on him, but he proved me wrong.
