Yes, she did get one at 3 years old. It can be a process but once you get to surgery it really is not as bad as I thought it would be. And it helped her sooooooo much. The donor was in worse shape after surgery not her ;) Good luck with everything!

It’s how they got there. Two classic wins over no. 1 wake that could have easily gone either way. A one run victory over Florida that was in doubt until the end. Coming back from getting routed to route the same team. Think about it, we lose either of the Wake games or the Florida one run game and we go home. Destiny.

I know people from the athletic department lurk here. They need to get in touch with you and bring her to a WBB game as a special guest.

I live in Greenville, SC now, so we got to go see them play in the SEC tourney and the Elite 8. That was pretty cool :)

Thanks for all the kind words folks! Just have to always keep fighting and never give up. Great lesson from this baseball team too

Since mid February, I never missed a game. I’ll be honest, I can’t say that that has been the case with every baseball team we’ve had. But this team was so special, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of them.

Each and every one has been special to me...
This applies to almost every good season, and we just tend to think the ones we end with a W are 'better', because we don't have the final disappointment.

Couple of cases to mention: 2011 in football, that entire season was straight fire. Defense doing things you don't think possible, on a routine basis, etc. If we'd have won it all, it would have been at least as sweet as 2019.

Also, the baseball season where we started out bumbling, then reeled off 20 wins in a row or something like that. I believe the Rally Possum year. Everyone was super excited, but the magic finally ran out.

My favorite team ever

No doubt. They played good baseball. They all were clutch, our pitchers and hitters. And they were humble.

These boys ran the gauntlet. They when against really good pitching.

This is my favorite team ever.

Coming out of a game 2 loss in Omaha to win it all is something I still can't believe.

So many pitchers had multiple career games in Omaha in must-win games. It's amazing.

I still have not jumped off Cloud 9! I remember everyone was just thinking about making it to Omaha this year, that was the goal. After that little funk during the last few weekends before the SEC tournament, we had concerns, but the way this team responded was amazing!! Our pitching suddenly became a strength, hitting consistent as well! Just a fantastic ride I will continue to enjoy!

Wow, you and your family have been through a lot! So happy things turned out the way they did. Like many families, we have had cancer enter our lives (not with our kids, thank goodness). While I would never wish these things on anyone, there is one good thing to come of it. It forces you to appreciate every day and “to be where your feet are” as Dylan Crews put it after the championship. I imagine you and your daughter are experts at that.

I too watched more baseball games this year than ever. I think I only missed two the entire year. Once we got to know all the players, it was really special to watch them perform.
So many good memories.
