Whats so hard to understand that this is a ONE TIME situation. There is NO FUTURE for this scenario !!!!!!!!!

I understand what you are saying. I would love to have this approved as a one time scenario, and then no one else will ever ask for it again. But I think people will ask for it again. All anyone will remember is that players cut from the NFL came back to college. You clearly have more faith in people than I do.

I understand what the situation is, but it’s much cleaner to simply say that we aren’t allowing former NFL players to come back to college. Once you enter the draft, you can’t come back. End of story. If you make an exception once, people will want an exception in the future. It used to be once you signed with an agent, you couldn’t come back. That was the universal rule, but with NIL everyone has an agent. There have to be some freaking rules to stop all of this insanity.

Ok but “once you enter you draft you can’t come back” is NOT the current rule. The current rule is “once you enter the draft and go undrafted and go to NFL minicamp you can come back, unless you make it beyond the first round of cuts.”

“It’s ok to try out for the NFL as long as you fail quickly” seems a much more problematic position than “class of 2022 guys who thought they were out of eligibility get a mulligan.”

This is that rat poison that Saban always warmed his team and coaches about. This is not worth the distraction and time at this point.

I disagree 100%. IMO, the ONLY reason teams are trying to do it this year because the 2022 class was screwed. With the new 5 years to play in 5 seasons, that would have made this entire issue moot. Too bad, the NCAA was ssssooo stupid, they did it after everyone had to decide whether to enter pro league drafts. If they had made the 5 for 5 policy earlier by just a few months, none of this mess would have occurred.

I hate the distraction it has become,
Hopefully the team is locked in. The talk right now should be all Clemson, all the time.
